But then we need someone who can coach a QB and coordinate routes to account for that.No matter who the coach is, Dan Marino in his prime isn't going to do well when pressured and receivers who have a hard time getting separation AND holding onto the ball.
I really do not understand why people here cannot see that..we have seen teams come into Rutgers stadium with such plans. Famously the UNH game.. the Cinci game when we opened the stadium with the new expansion.. and there have been others.. they knew they could not protect their QB against our pass rush.. so they PRACTICED to handle it by getting the ball out FAST throwing to SPOTS based on PRE-SNAP reads.. the QB did not have to make a read while dropping back.. other than to possibly throw it away or go to an outlet if he did not like what he saw.. there were no progressive reads at multiple WRs...it was simple..
- throw it to the spot and hope your guy gets there for the catch
- dump it to the outlet or tuck and run
- or throw it away
If we know we cannot protect the QB (due largely to teams run-blitzing because of poor passing game).. then this is how you handle that.
