If you’re not happy with the job Cal has done this year and since he’s been here than there is no pleasing someone like you. You need to have more realistic expectations and not freak out everytime we lose a game in November or December.
I said I was happy we turned it around. But at the time it was not pretty. Just like all of last year and most of 2016. If you could not see a downward trend with our program...

Half the people in this town turned on Homer before he got hurt and he had nothing to do with it besides signing the dotted line. They turned on him because he wasn't as successful as Johnny Cueto who was traded instead. Homer had a great arm and 2 no-hitters but his career was hot and cold even before he signed the big deal. Of course he wasn't as easy to trade as Johnny after signing but half the fan base thought they signed the wrong guy the same day it happened.
I haven't lived in Lexington in over 35 years and am not privy to what's going on with the Reds that much but I had the feeling that was the case. Still don't understand why they traded Cueto.

Dear Ghost or @morgousky or whatever you want to call yourself:

Jay Wright is not a better coach than John Calipari....that isn't an opinion, that's a fact. He is an average coach that hit lightning in a bottle...was considered a choke artist before his titles. Now he is an all time great?

I'm not going to dig through your posts, nor bother to go find your initial post that you conveniently left out in your response to me. You are judging a book by its cover. 2 titles doesn't make Cal great...it will make the book look shinier but that's about it.

If you think people who support the person in the seat are not UK fans, then you are more confused than I originally thought.

There’s an outlier in every situation

You obviously don’t understand anything about this. A second ring has always been its own measuring stick. It’s not saying Cal isn’t any good if he doesn’t win it. It’s just that a lot of coaches have won a title. Very, very few have won two. It stands on its own. But you have to be hungry to win two because it doesn’t come easy.

This is common sht that some of you are having a tough time with.

You seem like an extremely passive fan. Not everyone is. Give it a rest. There’s no reason to dig through my post I can help you out. I made a point that pumpers too say things that seem stupid. Like “I hope Cal leaves and you get what’s coming to you”. It’s been said many times. And whatever you keep insinuating is not in my posting history.

Well, I mean man. Everyone who knows college ball knows a second ring is a coveted and important milestone for the greats. Do you want Cal to be seen as one of those, or as one of the many coaches who have just won one? What UK fans think about it doesn’t matter. I’m talking about his legacy. It would be cool to have another guy with multiple titles. Cal is too good to end on one ring and he’s got plenty of time to do it if he stays put.

I see you've continued to add to this post.

I'm passive in the sense that my world doesn't end on a UK loss in anything. I'm an alum...I have my priorities in line with my life, not those of a bunch of kids. I support the program and want them to win.

Also, I didn't dig through your posts...I responded to one in which you compared Cal to Ronald Reagan.

Done with the back and forth.

Yes Cal does get the reagan treatment. I do it too. It just means he’s untouchable at UK and there’s a segment of fans that will not allow discussion about anything. Similar to how you aren’t even able to discuss a second ring without taking things to a weird level.

When Oreilly wrote his book on Reagan, or anyone for that matter, the Regan intellects pounced becsuse even though it was written in a positive light, they didn’t like his views on his illness.

It wasn’t really a knock just an observation. And it’s valid.

And you don’t set the table for how people follow and express their UK fandom. You think if we don’t follow passively like you then we’re stupid. Got it. Doesn’t mean anything. Some people are more into it, get over it.

Yeah losses early in the season are frustrating but Cal proves time and time again that even though it takes some of his teams longer than others, they will be a force come Febuary and or March. You could see this team had all the pieces to be top 3 in the country. The Duke loss was deflating but we are in the Final Four/Championship conversation damn near every year since Cal has been here. Realistically that’s all you can ask for. He will be sorely missed when he leaves

We have some delusional fans that think anything less than a yearly final four is a program on a downtred. It's insane.

This year's squad has progressed faster than several of his previous teams and they continue to improve. If they stay focused and not take a win for granted, they can win number 9 this year.

Some of them are more into Cal than UK. I was making a point that it works both ways. When someone says “I wish he’d leave” as a means to prove a point to an internet guy they don’t know, yea sorry, they’re not as much UK fans as Cal fans. I’m both.

Lol...you are a piece of work man. You are passive aggressively trying to insult me.

I'm not a passive fan...again, I am a realist. I don't think Cal is untouchable. If he were to go on a Tubby like streak of no FFs, early tourney exits, doesn't even attempt to recruit, etc...I'd want him gone.

He is no where near that. I just don't have bipolar disorder with the Cats. When they lost to Seton Hall I wasn't out there saying they'd lose to UNC and UL.

I said nothing after the Seaton Hall loss.

You have mischaracterized my positions routinely going on a month. Sorry for coming back at you.

I’m not passive about anything. I’m not scared to tell you I think you’re a passive fan and some of us aren’t. That’s where the problems are coming from. You even had a problem with me talking about the importance of his second ring. You do not want discussion, period. You want everyone to follow your way, and I’m more into it than that. Like I said, get over it.

I don’t remember you around here, but you’ve had some weird issue with me day one. And you can’t debate it, that’s why you constantly change my positions and debate yourself.

I don’t have a problem with you. You’re the one that’s had a problem for a while now. And you can’t prove one damn thing you say about my posting history because it wasn’t said.

We get it. You love your kids and don’t really care about anything else. You’ve got priorities. Some of us are too into it. Great. Awesome.

Again with your passive aggressive BS...

BTW- I never said you said we'd lose those games...plenty did though. It was just an example

I wouldn't sweat the words of a "fan" who wanted Sandy Bell fired so we could "take more chances on the recruting trail". That's the dumbest thing ever said on this board and shows his complete lack of integrity. He'd fit right in as a Kansas or U6 fan, lol.

Dude, I don’t think you know what that word means. Nothing I’ve done has been passive. I said what I wanted to say. You haven’t been posting long I guess. I’ve always said what I wanted to say. Why would I need to be passive toward you? A few of you I’ve never seen before. Why would I care. Stop flattering yourself.

You change positions because you have an issue with people discussing things you don’t like. Figure it out. And if not maybe message boards aren’t for you.

Message boards are for you because you clearly don't know when to stop. You just keep babbling on and on. You are def passive aggressive...you highlighted you weren't mad and then highlighted how you were in a not so direct way. You drug me off topic, brought up my kids- no clue why, you changed this from what it was initially, to what it is now.

I'm done with it. Don't want to ignore you because I like some of your posts...not sure why you think I've been after you since day 1? I've responded to just a handful of your posts.

Dude is just a big mouth know it all blowhard, when you throw his own stupid, heat of the moment words back at him, it's allegedly taken out of context. He then attacks family. It is futile to argue with him, he won't stop until he gets the last word, no matter how stupid that word is.

I don’t believe pumpers are really “UK” fans right now. We’ve had pumpers wish for Cal to leave to prove a point. We have pumpers who really don’t care after we lose. A pumper in 2019 is a little more or less a Cal fan not necessarily a “UK” fan. I do believe they like UK, I just think they get caught up in a war that’s stupid and it turns them into a supporter of a guy in the seat instead of the program.
I m not saying you are wrong but I have never saw a post or heard someone say, "I wish Cal would leave to show the pessimists". I have been accused of being a pumper, I cuss and yell and hate when we lose. I support Cal because he is the coach at UK, if he leaves I won't care what he does. I never watched and kept up with him at Memphis.

Some weird stuff in this debate.

One, there's a weird sort of false equivalence. One side is accused of being negative, of having ridiculous expectations (e.g., we better not lose to the #1 team in the country, that's unacceptable! heh)....and their response is to say the other side is just as bad. As in, "you act too much like a fan." On a fan website. lol.

Two, "pumper" is entirely misplaced on a Kentucky message board. Short for 'sunshine pumper' someone who naively and artificially tries to maintain everything is OK in a bleak situation. You can be a pumper if you're a Kentucky football fan. Or an Indiana basketball fan. You cannot be a pumper if you're an Alabama or Clemson football fan, or a Kentucky or Duke basketball fan. It does not fit.

That was the frustrating part about the early season struggles. I thought this team, on paper, was going to be #1 or 2 all year. When the first two months of the season looked like last year I thought oh no not again. Glad we figured it out.

The thing is, all discussion aside, Cal gets the Ronald Regan (I’m a fan so don’t even) treatment around here. He’s essentially untouchable by our establishment intellects and they will come at you if you don’t appear to be hitting your knees in worship.

And they can KMA.

But Cal like Regan has earned his reputation and respect for me.

well a few people in this thread went way over board... I dont think my post of there being a chance of 10 losses was bad.... thankfully that chance didnt come close to happening though but there is always a chance of things not going well.... as it all just depends on if the players will listen to Cal and what point they learn to listen to him.... last year was late feb... this year was mid december.

No more misplaced as being called a "troll" when someone questions motives or tactics by the coaching staff, especially when they lead to the same outcome....

If the shoe fits wear it then. Only a fool would nitpick a coach that has delivered 4 FF’s in 9 years.
