Well what’s interesting is a lot of fans hold Cal to a different standard than previous coaches. And ironically no one has had more success than Cal since Rupp.

I love Joe. But Joe is not a GOAT he’s just under appreciated and underrated.
Cal is a GOAT. He’s on level with K, Knight, Pitino, Williams, Rupp ect. He definitely needs that second ring. It separates great coaches from great. And whether or not we like it, history will judge him from whether he has it or not. Similar to how we’ve judged Dean Smyth so harshly for having all of that talent and 2 rings in half a century.
I still have Pitino’s footprint as being better than Cals but I don’t think that lasts for too much longer. Cal should pass Pitino soon.
Also wouldn’t you say a guy that says “ I wish Cal would leave so you idiots get what’s coming to you” is not really a UK fan as much as a Cal supporter? Simple question counselor
And Cal has plenty of time to get another title. Wright didn’t get his first at Nova until year 15. K didn’t get his until year 11.
I know for myself I had last year on the mind..... last year just never turned it around until late. and I was worried about the chance that this team might not click until the very end either. But boy I'm glad my worries were slim and the team immediately committed to defense and playing 100% effort starting with Utah

Disagree. Pitino should have won the titles in 93, 95, and 97. I would argue they are about even right now with Cal poised to be the best since Rupp.

Nope...the real losers are the loser fans who hop on this board after a loss and spew absolute nonsense. The realistic fans who understand the process and how progress works have to endure months of a cluttered swamp of negativity on this baord ...we need more of this in my opinion because they need to see how dumb they look. I honesltly think many of them are so bipolar that they forget they even say the things they do and even convince themselves that they never did...this is how you learn.

To be fair 10 losses looked reasonable if we kept playing like we did in December. It's easy to forget how rough we looked early.

well a few people in this thread went way over board... I dont think my post of there being a chance of 10 losses was bad.... thankfully that chance didnt come close to happening though but there is always a chance of things not going well.... as it all just depends on if the players will listen to Cal and what point they learn to listen to him.... last year was late feb... this year was mid december.

I never said anything as dumb as this thread but I will admit, I was starting to question things. I thought there was WAY too much talent to get curbstomped like they did against Duke or to lose to Seton Hall. They just had zero chemistry or direction. They looked SO bad early on.

Have you not enjoyed this year? I think the progression of the team and the big wins have made this team every likeable and fun to watch.

This is dead on...its the pretty much the same pattern every year and i dont know how many seasons people need to see to understand it.

Second title is all that matters at this point. We will be good regardless. I always expect that. Cal has done more for UK and these players than anyone I can remember. His legacy matters to me more than just enjoying a win.

If Cal stays here long enough then I’m willing to bet another title will happen. Between bad tourney seeds, shady refs and certain schools having protected status, winning a title isn’t exactly a given.
Bingo. One of the funnest seasons of my life. Anybody that hasn't had a blast this season has serious mental issues, IMO or really isn't a fan.
Between football and basketball, its been about as much fun as you could hope with obviously a couple of hiccups along the way. Hopefully the basketball team rides this momentum through the NCAA tournament.
