Yea, they have some games that are impressive, and then some head scratchers. I believe they CAN beat us, but if we go out and play like we have the last several weeks, I say we pull it out
He also ranked Edenton above us during one of the last 4 seasons.
That was the 2019 season. Him and the high school OT guys said Edenton would beat us that year.
I get it! He’s gotta add some spice! Tarboro winning all the time gets old, gotta make it a little interesting
Right and it wasn’t like he said Pender was gonna win. He just basically just said it wouldn’t be a cake-walk and I think all of us agree with that.
Tarboro's success has spoiled us fans. It is not normal to blow a team out by 40+ in a Regional final (especially against teams putting up ridiculous points [Edenton] coming into the final). We have gotten used to that success with the depth of talent in recent years. This game may not be as high scoring. If you follow the guys out west, then you will see they expect a 1 to 2 touchdown victory - not total domination.
Agreed! Those were really good edenton teams, think folks forget, edenton went to the 2a title game their last year in 2a. Wasn’t the East was as weak as folks claimed, we were so dominant in 17 and 18 we made it look weaker than it actually was.
For example, in 18, I’d argue North Stanly and Edenton were better than East Surry
Right. We won by 19 in the 4th round of the playoffs and people are unhappy. Sure, this team isn’t as dominant as ‘17 and ‘18 but they are still very good.
And remember they had CJ Clark who plays at Nc State wasn’t even playing that game for them.

Coach Tom Eanes is a good coach he's gonna have Pender ready. I'm picking tarboro because of home Field. Since 2008 tarboro has lost at home just 5 times. It's hard to go into tarboro and beat them because opposing teams know the history and prestige they are walking into. By no means does this mean Pender will be intimidated, but home field for tarboro is a big deal.
Agreed! We lost two in 13 at home. Southern nash by 1, and Wallace in the playoffs. I believe in 14 we lost at home to Washington, then in 15 James Kennan. I know those off the top of my head, who was the fifth? Either way, great stat!
We lost by 6 to swe in 2008. But yeah if a team goes into tarboro and beats them it's because they played extremely good. It may come of as Bragging, but stats are stats
I don’t like to think about those games. We got robbed in ‘09. They stopped us on 4 downs inside the 5 and they had it on camera D-Hop got in the end zone twice and they marked him short.
But it’s okay - they’ve only beaten us once since then.
08 we had the fumble on what would’ve been the game winning drive.
09, what many forget, our QB got hurt against north Edgecombe, he was the teams leading rusher, so he didn’t play against SWE. He gave our offense a completely different look that year, so they beat us by six, with our back up Qb, and dhop getting in twice and the officials failing to call it.

Me too. Losing to southwest is something I don’t like experiencing. Luckily we don’t have to experience it much

Sounds like the coach has his team in the right mindset. This team reminds me of the 13 WRH team that rolled into town. Huge up front with power backs. Wallace ran that sweep all night to the right side with them big dudes up front plowing everyone down. We definitely have to play much better than last week. I don't see them slowing our offense down though. If they put nine in the box i expect us to throw the ball a little more than normal.

Could be wrong, but I expect to put up points, their D hasn’t looked great this year based on the numbers. Question is, will our D be able to stop them??
That’s huge! I know folks thought I was using that as a crutch after the lost to Rm the first game of the season, but not having those guys is huge! It says a lot about our program that we can lose two guys of that caliber, and not skip much of a beat
Yeah and by no means if we were to lose would that be an excuse - but to lose 2 potential 800+yard backs that were also two of our better defensive players and still be in our position is very impressive.
They’ve looked good but not great. They gave up 44 to East Duplin and 65 to Whiteville. Same as Tarboro. Tarboros defense has been good but not great.
