I would. I'm sure there's another player out there that wants that opportunity, to show that they can elevate their game. A high risk high reward type of player would fit, for me
I’d grab someone to redshirt if I could find one that would be helpful next year or as a practice piece this year. Use it or lose it. Maybe someone coming off an injury

if kevin young gets the bulls job and leaves BYU....if I'm pope i plead with boosters for the 2M-2.5M and offer chanlder a backup PG spot and see if the comes back.
We need to save it since the 14 players include only one guy that will be a senior next year and almost everybody has been signed for 2 years, meaning anybody that doesn't go to the NBA will return to Kentucky after next year(if Pope does enough to keep his job).
Nah. Unless a reclass guy or a Euro REALLY wants to come in and use a year to develop for basically pennies, you just use the roster spot for a practice squad/walk on guy if you use it at all. We've got enough "Lower Level" in state guys on the roster already. The remaining talent pool is bare and there's no reason to waste the NIL or time/effort/money to recruit piece number 15. Spend that effort on making sure you get the most out of the guys you have now to secure yourself a year 4 and landing some summer recruits for 2027 or else there will be a new head man in charge.
Yes, for a decently versatile guard with range if Pope learned anything at all from trying to run his system last year without enough pieces for it. Not holding my breath though.
Maybe someone like Camren Hunter from Central Arkansas that we were connected to back at the beginning of the portal? He needs a waiver, but he had a pretty good 3-point percentage last year and I imagine he'd be okay with cashing a check for coming off the bench.
