Yeah we would really be tearing down someone making the final 4.You are plain full of ****.
Bill self has the same amount of final fours as the guy that coaches our school in a much longer time, and as of today the same amount of titles.

Granted he hasn't missed a tournament...he also has 7 1st/2nd rd losses.

You'd have fired Bill self long ago

Anything pre 2015 doesn't count on this board lol.

We are supposed to judge coaches on ridiculously small samples and supposed to somehow conclude that means something going forward.

Forget track record over careers lol
Indiana won 5 National Championships with the last one coming in 1987.
They have a great track record. Tied for 3rd in NC’s.

Are they worth a **** today??

To want to fire a guy with 1 title, 3 final fours, and domination of our in-state rival and think this is going to entice other coaches to want to come here…
The same lame argument was used for Tubby and Billy and yet we managed to find someone to accept $9 million to coach an elite program.

…his best days are behind him. He’ll never win another one.” <—— Rupp Rafters watching this performance from Jay Wright’s team if he were coaching at UK.
Wright is in his 3rd FF in the last 6 seasons, with 2 national titles. He’s doing this at what is essentially a mid-major. Plus, he’s missing a 15ppg starter from an already thin roster.

What’s the source of this kind of obtuseness? Is it a desperate desire to defend the indefensible? Some sort of personality cult? Outright idiocy? Or some toxic combination of all three?

Really, it’s just breathtaking, and kind of interesting on a clinical level.

If only Coach Cal could sniff a final four.
instead he only sniffs Coach K’s rear end.

Keion brooks once in a lifetime game is all that was. One could argue it was a bad thing in the long run as Cal probably thought he could do it consistently..
We all got that one game right... that definitely was Brooks.

I didn't say look at JUST the titles and just the final fours.

I'm just saying that it makes sense to look at someone's entire body of work when figuring our whether or not something is more or less likely to happen in the future.

This is true for any sport and basically anything in life.

It’s also worth it to look at their recent success.

Lets say I won employee of the month 40 times for 5 years. Then 10 years pass and I won it one time and my production was slacking. Would you look for my replacement?

Having said all of this I do think Wright is a great coach and if UK did ever make a change it wouldn't bother me one bit to see him at the sidelines.

I really never understood the coach 1st fans. Cal got befuddled by a 2-3 zone, watched his team dribble out the shot clock and blew a 6 point lead with 3 minutes to play.

Wright has more championships than CCC and one of his best players is out for tonight’s Final Four game. Seems odd to bring this up, even for the Cult of Cal.
This is spot on….but they won’t care.

Whenever any team loses, they start a topic of “Farr (insert coaches name)” 🤣🤣🤣

They are still doing it…..in the Final 4……where one team is missing a key starter.

They don’t really know how to do this message board thing.

I’m taking into account Triple C’s entire body of work.

The game has changed and anyone not named Duke doesn’t get their pick of recruits.

Triple C can’t out coach a wet paper bag. Now he can’t get the recruits to overtalent them by a wide margin.

We’re in real trouble if he doesn’t leave.

Sound like an IU fan. We should fire Bob Knight he hasn’t been to a final four in years and is abusing players. Nah he has 3 titles! Lets keep him until we sink into irrelevancy. Genius!

Certainly and it's a results oriented business and if u don't produce the results, then people will want changes and perhaps changes would (should) be made.

But as far as what makes sense to use on predicting what the future holds.......well that's entirely up for debate.

I don't look at a baseball player having one good season and thinking to myself........well that completely negates everything they did up to that point to the point where I think he'll have a good season next year. You take things on the whole.

There would have been calls to fire Coach K on here for his performance between the 04 Final Four and his 2010 title.

Exactly and could you imagine if they fired K pre 10............no title in 10, no title in 15.

I wonder if Duke fans thought he was done at that time. Certainly on the downward trend.

Bill Self is going to his first title game since 2012. Some fans on here would have had him fired before he had this chance…

Wright and Pearl are my favorite dots it we could trade right now. We have at least 2 more years unless something strange happens.

This “what have you done for me lately” mentality is idiotic. Wright’s resume before 2016 was trash and no one on this board would have given him the time it took to win his first title.
Villanova isn’t KENTUCKY they are a glorified mid major.

How many titles did he have at this point? How many years has he gone without a 1 seed?

We've had 3 seasons POST 15 where we were 2 seeds. Two of those seasons I believe we were the top 2 seed and the other season we were 6th overall.

It's hard to put a whole lot of stock into the 1 seed argument when it's subjective and done by a bunch of guys sitting in a room.

While we are on the subject of the Big East (least) can we at least on this board put to bed the conference stuff and whether or not that actually matters.

The ACC was god awful this season. Two teams (Duke and UNC) have made a final four.
The Big East wasn't much better this season. One team (Nova) made the final four.

Done hearing about conference strength as if it's any meaning in this one and done tournament.

So how much longer do you want to give Cal?If he has another season not winning the Sec or Sec tourney and gets knocked out early in NCAA do you still support him?
