How Dumb is the Media (and projections)?

Literally nobody talking about Iowa making the playoffs. All projections have them well out and a long shot to make it. Iowa is literally going to walk into the playoff at this point. These last 4 games aren’t that hard, if they beat northwestern all bets are off and they are in. I love it! No one giving them any cred.

Put down the bottle op

Trakker · 2026-11-04T19:08:21-0600

We should have walked thru Minnesota

oldxbbc · 2026-11-04T19:25:19-0600

Cat's are not going to be easy. with their qb being so mobile. We are down one db and starting center. If, and I mean IF we get by Northwestern the big target will be on our backs. At Illinois and Nebby will not be easy in my opinion.

We always piss it down our leg though once we get highly ranked. Nice thing is we haven't usually done that when we get to November. I'm still petrified of the Purdue game because they will attack us pass first.

That's not how Purdue attacked Minnesota, so who knows.

Northwestern will be the 2nd best team Iowa plays all year, after a "healthy" Ohio State. I'm not sure fans realize how good they are. Should certainly be in the CFP Top 25. They are favored over the Hawks for a reason. If Iowa wins, then they will get a huge boost in the CFP. Then and only then should we be talking about them pissing the bed against Purdue/Illinois/Nebraska.

I hope you are correct and the hawks win out.

FanInBlack · 2026-11-04T23:01:39-0600

that happens when you dont beat Minnesota as favorites.

and thinking any games "aren't hard" for Iowa is laughable. They win a lot of games by one score. even in 2002, 2009 and 2015.

What's your team? Because I'm pretty sure it isn't Iowa

However, at least the Purdue game is at Kinnick.

Well you can't turn the ball over 4 times and have a punt blocked right away inside your own 15 and then blatantly line up offsides on a 4th down stop. Just dumb, dumb, dumb and poor execution.

You have to ask yourself.....Is it more important to make the playoffs or win your last game of the year?

A team winning its bowl game to finish 6-7 is better than making the playoffs, I guess

Don't be shocked if they lay a turd at NW. Hawks have not put together 2 great games in a row. I want to be wrong. Even if they go undefeated, ESPN will do everything in their power to get 9-3 SEC teams in.

Playoffs. No brainer.

85Bears · 2026-11-05T19:50:39-0600

Illinois gets Katin Houser back this week, Nebraska is going to lose on the road again to go 5-4. Rhule may be on his way out.
