I doubted he’d make it back to the top at this weight class. Glad to be proven wrong. Amazing.Kyle Dake World Champ! Amazing what he’s doing at 35.

You sell yourself short Ozark, that is very well done, on par with others and much appreciated.Dake vs Dzhioev (AZE)
Dake in Blue, AZE in red. AZE knocked off Greece and Georgia on his way to the finals. Dake smiling and looking relaxed on his walk out. And here we go!
Heavy handfighting from both wrestlers to start and they both get a verbal. AZE tying up Dake's fingers and he is the first to get warned for passivity. Halfway through the first and no score. AZE goes on the clock. Dake warned for heavy clubs. Dake on the board first with a passivity point, 1-0. Dake gets warned for passivity. AZE digs an underhook and tries to run Dake down, but no scoring, and we go to the break 1-0, Dake.
Immediately on the restart, both guys get stern warning for heavy hands. Dake in on a slide-by, switches to a double on the edge and finishes. 3-0 Dake. AZE digs underhook and gets a pushout, 3-1. 1:30 left. AZE with heavy collar ties, Dake playing defense. Dake is put on the clock with 1:07 left. No scoring, so AZE gets a passivity point, 3-2 Dake. Restart with 0:11. AZE on the legs, Dake to chest wrap, and he hangs on to win, 3-2!!!!!!!!
5x World Champion, NLWC's own, KYLE DAKE!!!!!

I think he stays at 61kg next year. Such a huge advantage sitting out to final X. I don’t remember if you medal but change weights if you get any sort of advantage. If he stays at 61kg he has a great shot at making the team and bringing home the gold. He did go up to 65kg last year because he lost at 61kg and couldn’t get to final X. He actually made the senior team at both weights. He was definitely undersized at 65kg though. I think he can continue to fill out and be a bigger 61kg next year and then jump to 65kg for the Olympic cycleZzz: you don’t see Marcus heading up to 65 kg next year to better set him up for ‘28 OTT? Wasn’t it just last year that Blaze moved up to 65 kg and beat Bassett in WTT for U23s?
You definitely did a better job than I do! I was tied up so I appreciate you stepping inOne match isn't bad. My hat is off to those guys for being able to do it for an entire tournament
What is the likely score for Green if he wins at least his first repechageTeam USA 180 with a max of 215
Russia 145 with a max of 185
Iran 110 with a max of 150
Isn't USA max actually 210? Lee, Haines and Hidlay can get 15. Green can get to 15. Am I missing someone?Team USA 180 with a max of 215
Russia 145 with a max of 185

Sorry misread the question.Isn't USA max actually 210? Lee, Haines and Hidlay can get 15. Green can get to 15. Am I missing someone?
I think you are right. 15 more points possible for Spencer, Levi, and Trent and 15 possible for Green for a total of 30. Pretty sure the max should be 210Isn't USA max actually 210? Lee, Haines and Hidlay can get 15. Green can get to 15. Am I missing someone?
The Ltown kidFinal 11 to 8 Hidlay!
Ahem or 1953Or at least 1979
We have to go 0-4 or 1-4 Green could win 1 and Russia 6-0 for them to win. They gotta win a repechage match and bronze match at 57 & 79 and win gold at 74 and beat Trent at 92What is the likely score for Green if he wins at least his first repechage
Yes 15 5 5 5 .Isn't USA max actually 210? Lee, Haines and Hidlay can get 15. Green can get to 15. Am I missing someone?
Yesh we are beyond spoiledI've seriously gotten the chills so many times seeing these guys accomplish their goals that they worked so hard for. I'm definitely proud to be a USA wrestling fan and a Penn State wrestling fan! Simply phenomenal!!!!!
Are we getting to the point where Blaze is a ‘once every four years’ 57KG? Don’t think he’s grown much at all. Didn’t really expect that, but it happens.I think he stays at 61kg next year. I am not from Mexico, but my body was about 50% tequila the other nightHe was but once an opening became available he went back.
Rby finalsNLWC… best club in the world.
Congrats
RBY is going to be kind of lonely on that team Mexico plane.Team USA will need a separate plane for all the hardware being flown home. So proud of these men.
I did not give Dake much of a shot at winning another world title. It's incredible how he has continually moved up as he's aged and just kept winning. Not only the age, but he probably was the physically smallest guy in the 86kg weight class. Amazing. That is truly amazing, something that will never be done again.
Maybe he can change over to Greco after 28 and see what he can do.
Does he get his picture on the wall at NLWC even though he's wrestling for another country?RBY is going to be kind of lonely on that team Mexico plane.![]()
Must be getting old , when I read this I thought you wrote Corby and I am sitting here thinking how do you know he is calm and how can Levi hear him through the computer. Took me reading this three times before I realized you said CodyY'know who is awesome? Cody ... His calmness likely keeps the wrestlers calm. He rarely tells them how to wrestle - they know by now! But I heard him tell Levi he was up by criteria and advise him how much time was left. Levi can focus on his opponent rather than having to sneak peeks at the clock and scoreboard.
I'd be proud to have RBY's photo on the NLWC walls. He's earned it.Does he get his picture on the wall at NLWC even though he's wrestling for another country?
You wouldn't have that problem if you had......Must be getting old , when I read this I thought you wrote Corby and I am sitting here thinking how do you know he is calm and how can Levi hear him through the computer. Took me reading this three times before I realized you said Cody
