Kentucky is trending for an elite recruit in the 2027 class, and I've logged a prediction in favor of Mark Pope and the Wildcats to win out.
Great prospect as a bench big if things go right for Pope this year.

Just watched some of his game film. He does it all, including handling the ball well.
Who is the last 7'5 guy that could dominate a college basketball game? Not to be a wet blanket but those guys are too slow and too physically weak to make an impact. It just never works out with these dudes.

Hope he isn't another over hyped project because if he is it's the last thing we need. We need a top talented point guard who can lead by example and check all the boxes for the position.
Surprised to see ESPN has Millogo as #8 Overall in the class and ranks him as a 5 star. While I don't give much credence to ESPN's rankings, still surprising considering every other site has him between 29 and 44 generally (and a 4 star). I was a little confused when a headline referenced UK picking up a prediction to land a 5 star. Now I see why, they were using ESPN's rankings.
Hope this actually means good news for us. Hasn't meant much lately to get a prediction.
Can probably add Aday Mara from last year's National Champions to the list too. He measured 7'3" without shoes at the draft combine. So somewhere between 7'4" and 7'5" depending on his shoes on the court.
For some reason I thought it said he could be our PG. I agree it would be a good pickup

Pope isn’t exactly working with years to develop players, here. He needs instant-impact players to prove why he should continue to be the Kentucky coach.
We better get him, lol. The assistant we just hired coached him with NBA Africa. But, I can’t imagine this kid will have an impact for years. At that height, the learning curve and conditioning is really steep.

He is extremely hard to project to college basketball next year. There just haven’t been many of the freakishly tall guys ranked high in the recruiting rankings.
Using 247 rankings(focused on centers) there have only been two 7’2 and above(listed height) guys in the top 50 of their class: Bol Bol and Aday Mara. There were some guys right outside the top 50 by their rankings (Hunter Dickinson and Daniel Jacobsen(at Purdue now)).
Think he is an ideal Kepnang replacement in year 1 behind a third year Malachi.
