Hope you are right. They beat Washington on the road and beat Michigan. I doubt they play like they did at Purdue. Experience team, I expect a tough game. They'll focus on shutting down our run game. Will Heck be able to win through the air?
Their QB has been fairly efficient. They severely won TOP in wins against Michigan and Washington. They won TO battle in both of those games too. Michigan had 6 penalties for 43 yards as well.
Against Purdue, Minnesota severely lost TOP battle, they were -2 in TO margin, and Purdue ran for 305 yards. I think we have the TE and WR group to make them pay if they want to stack the box. How will Heck do against a team that forces him to stay in pocket and make throws? We'll see. He's short. His arm strength is questionable too.
I'd like to see us come out and throw the ball. If it doesn't look good, make the move to Hank Brown to start second half. Looks like decent winds around kickoff though at 11 MPH and slight chance of rain by 4th quarter.
Defense has to find a way to get off the field and create turnovers. I think Minnesota is going to move the ball some, and I'm especially worried about their WR screen game because we didn't look good at all against Washington for that.
I want to see throw to open up the run approach in this game though. Anytime you do that, the turnover variable gets notched up a bit...
