Which are the most likely classes to have an undefeated champ? The ones who don't lose any games
It will be a difficult task for any team to win a state championship undefeated, but the two teams with the best chance seem to be Byron and Wilmington. Wilmington still has a tough regular season test against Coal City. What Team(s) Will Stay Undefeated the Longest this year?
Andrew's triple option vs SJO's "everything else under the sun."If SJO can beat Andrew this week, I would say they will likely be 13-0 and maybe even give Byron a game.
Easiest question in a long time.
Wilmington and it’s not close
I respect Byron as much as the next guy, but even if IC gets waxed this week, I still think they're the team to beat in 3A.If SJO can beat Andrew this week, I would say they will likely be 13-0 and maybe even give Byron a game.
Wilmington is on a collision course with EPG. I think the Titans will be an even taller task for the Cats than CC next week.Easiest question in a long time.

I think some folks are sleeping on Richmond Burton in 3A and Morris in 4A. Perisch might be the best player after Bowen in all of 1-4A.1A - Whichever WIVC team emerges from the south will likely be unbeaten going into the title game. The NUIC reps from the north all have already lost at least once.
2A - Wilmington should have a close game against CC. Wilmo has had CC's number for quite a few years now, going back to pre-COVID days, but this CC team is legit. EPG should finish unbeaten in the regular season and will likely give Wilmington a tough game also. There will probably be other unbeatens in 2A, but I'm not ready to trust Maroa or Riverdale yet.
3A - Byron will have to get past an extremely talented IC. SJO will likely be unbeaten on the south side if they can beat Andrew.
4A - Depends on Montini. If Morris can somehow knock them off, I think we will see two unbeatens in the final. I still consider Montini the favorite in the North and at least a toss up overall.
I don't think there is anything close to a sure thing in the lower levels as far as unbeaten champs. I actually think Rochester is most likely, followed by Wilmington, Byron and then either Calhoun or Brown Co. in 1A.
After watching last night's game, SJO has by far the best offense I've seen all season in any class. I haven't seen IC yet, but SJO will beat Byron 8 maybe 9 times out of 10 imo. When they jumped into that spread broken polecat, they were unstoppable. If SJO can beat Andrew this week, I would say they will likely be 13-0 and maybe even give Byron a game.

R-B is obviously a very strong program, but I just think they are a step below the top level.I think some folks are sleeping on Richmond Burton in 3A and Morris in 4A. Perisch might be the best player after Bowen in all of 1-4A.
5 teams got their first loss. 28 undefeated teams remaining.Agreed and I will take Perisch over Bowen.
By the way IC is out of the undefeated conversation. Any others out this week?
