Not sure your point. When you have a divided government, what exactly can you do?
Immigration reform: clear Republican
Healthcare: slight Dem leans because they want to give you free things but Obamacare
Is a disaster.
Deficits and debt: neither party has an edge here. They both suck equally
Inflation: clear Republican
well my point is that nobody is running on a campaign of " we will propose a reform bill that does this or that"
Just an example, In Florida we have a governor candidate that is running (partially) on a platform that proposes setting up a sovereign fund to pay out hurricane costs there by saving $$ for residents....it may nor may not be a good idea but at least he's saying what he would do.
Just on affordability for example..candidates run on making things more affordable..but what does that mean? Democrats, or republicans, could propose ending tariffs, put a cap on credit card rates, propose some form of mortgage rates credit (note that I think any are good ideas). Same with healthcare...no proposals to fix what we know is a real problem for Americans...
The fact that Trump would veto everything is real. But democrats, or republicans, would be sitting the stage for 2028 platforms.
just some thoughts. Politicians just don't seem to be focusing on "real" problems....
don't forget, we had divided government the last time we balanced the budget. Parties can work together.
