And Bama lost 12 games in the 8 years Mullen was at State. Most of those to top 5 teams.
It was 16 years between the 80 and 96 wins. They've beaten us 16 times between the 07 game and this year. We're ranked #16. What does that mean? That we are bad at beating Bama in football.
A lot of people forget Bryant retired from coaching before he died. He remained Bama's AD and hired Perkins, but he really wanted Gene Stallings.
Perkins also took over the AD role when Bryant died. Its really hard to imagine someone being both Head FB coach and AD these days.
Name any other team you felt confident that Croom could beat while at State.... Sure wasn't Maine. At least against Alabama, I knew Croom would have our guys ready to run through a brick wall for.
Fun fact: State also lost three times to Alabama under Croom and was outscored 79-20 in those games.
That was the worst five game stretch for Alabama in their modern football history (since 1990 expansion).

Same here but we must have a healthy K1 and Fluff. In fact really they need each other . Also we’re gonna need the O Line to give Kamario more time and at least play a good bit better. Fluff has made so many blocks so K1 had enough time to throw the ball accurately. I didn’t even know before the bama game that Kamario was gonna be struggling that hard. Also Fluff was listed as probable before the game so yes it was very bad to lose that. With an extra week off and a lot of treatments hopefully Kamario and a lot of players a lot of them will feed much better.

Yes I was drunk, and at the troughs when we had the 100+ pick six. All I am saying is Croom had our players ready to play Bama more than any coach in recent memory.
Same here I was at that game. I’ll never forget it seeing that pick 6 forced by Titus Brown and ran and picked off by Anthony Johnson for I think was a 106yd pick six. Which also gave us bowl eligibility! Which was huge for us at that time.
