Hickory has just righted the ship over the past few years with Joe Glass at the helm. Comparing HHS to those "Special Teams" is way off base. North Lincoln is the worst team we've faced so far. Hickory had 3 offensive plays in the 2nd half last night and scored on 2 of those compared to NL'S 22 offensive plays. NL rushed for 102 yards on 36 carries, your man Agee had 28 of those on 12 carries. NL looked confused on many of thier play calls all night. After game reactions... hadn't done this in a while or at all as a whole, why not.
Bandys- Newtons time may not be til next year/ year after. JV's piling the wins but not saying that always translates to wins on varsity the next season
EL-Shaping up to be a NICE one when they take the field against Hickory and West Iredell
Hickory- hey its Hickory, the Hough/Mallard Creek/Weddington of the smaller town west region. If I'm overboard with that one let me know ha ha. Those 3 schools are pretty much small college level with some D1 mix. North may get better but thats JUST gaged off of this current JV team that seems to have a decent 9th grade class, hadn't watched em, dont think I will unless I get real bord, I rarely do JV games
Lincolnton- playoffs looking bright but did those guys have to put actual effort into not putting up 100 plus on the board? I wont mention a name but years ago I remember hearing bout a RB from I wont say what school it was, bragging bout his stats...the thing was he got alot of them from playing HT, smh LOL
Hibriten- man I shoulda not came I guess I jinxed em' I came down there after a church service cause right after I cranked up, I turned on Kix 103 thinking yeah lets hear how bad this is, and man I was blown backwards hearing 13-7 at the half, so I drove on down. Hibriten started running away with it afterwards. Number 3# the back up QB from EB was playing with great aggresion and doing great at making plays and trying to under pressure but it just wasn't to be. Hibriten is gonna do something in the playoffs and looking like Maiden might be in that path. Playoff riviarly now I'm sure.
Shelby- not much to say except thats that Shelby football. A moneys worth game
Of course its was offbase I was just bragging on em'. For the size of our pond here in the West, Hickory is the big fish I guess thats what I was getting at just being silly with it. North will not be what they were 2 years ago probably for a while, maybe a good while. It took Hickory, wow, a good deal of time to get around to 1996 type Calibure and/or how they are now. Very happy for this programHickory has just righted the ship over the past few years with Joe Glass at the helm. Comparing HHS to those "Special Teams" is way off base. He did the best he could. He did run hard but it was mainly between the tackles.Agee I'm sure did the best he can, he dont have the line he once had.

We definitely appreciate the compliment, Hickory has always brought in talent, we've had many teams I felt was state championship worthy between 1996 - 2023. I remember some really good teams over the years, but the (Joe Glass Era) has been so impactful to our community, nothing against Stone, Helms or Worley, but Glass has brought in a different type of culture outside of football here, he wins and that's always great, but Coach Glass does so much more, the way he hold our kids accountable, and really cares for the kids outside of football as well.Hickory has just righted the ship over the past few years with Joe Glass at the helm. Agee ran okay last night, I can tell he is not 100% thoughHe did the best he could. He did run hard but it was mainly between the tackles.
We had a big coaching dilemma the night we faced Charlotte Catholic. If you knew the story it would sound fairy tale. Catholic was an awesome team, but not as good us.07 hickory team was legit

Hate that for the young man an being his senior year. he was a freshman carrying 1/2 the load with Wingate 3 and 2 years ago. Hopefully he'll be 100 percent before basketball.Agee ran okay last night, I can tell he is not 100% though
Absolutely
I'm wondering what happened to Charlotte Catholic the past couple years/ this year. They been taking a beating seeing the scoreboards. They've been solid for as long as I can remember. We had a big coaching dilemma the night we faced Charlotte Catholic. If you knew the story it would sound fairy tale. Had a great coach (Mike Brodowicz) that stepped down a few years ago. They went through a couple coaches that didn’t work out. Now Brodowicz is back so it probably won’t be long before they’re really good. Not Weddington good but good enough to compete in 6A.I'm wondering what happened to Charlotte Catholic the past couple years/ this year. They been taking a beating seeing the scoreboards. The newer Catholic School in northern Mecklenburg county has effected their numbers. They used to get all the Catholic athletes but now familes have a closer option instead of the commute from northern mecklenburg to Southern mecklenburg.I'm wondering what happened to Charlotte Catholic the past couple years/ this year. They played Watauga close in playoffs last year. I think they are in split 6a/7a conference too.I'm wondering what happened to Charlotte Catholic the past couple years/ this year. They been taking a beating seeing the scoreboards. They've been solid for as long as I can remember.

Speaking of Watauga- question for posters Beamer, AMD, Lincolnton, and Maiden Creek(Anyone else can chime in I don’t care lol)They played Watauga close in playoffs last year. I think they are in split 6a/7a conference too.
It’s a toss up in my opinion…if I have to pick I’d take Watauga at home.Speaking of Watauga- question for posters Beamer, AMD, Lincolnton, and Maiden Creek(Anyone else can chime in I don’t care lol)
This game for the conf crown unless Alexander Central got something to say, Watauga on a rebuild year and really young- Can Freedom take em’ this Friday and who would you go with? Freedom or Watauga? This ain’t for pick tally it don’t count. I put this on a Beamer reply since he’s seen the Boone boys prob more than I have
Yep. I wouldn't be shocked for them to get on a roll in conference.Watauga never underestimate their coach
There coach is good. If they had him in the 90s and WAY before now no telling what they woulda done. They had better athletes than a lot of teams that was beating the brakes off of them in the 90s and early 2000s.Yep. I wouldn't be shocked for them to get on a roll in conference.
