60% chance he makes the FG and you are still behind
50% chance you make a first down pass on 4th and 6.
Go for it. go for the lead
Yeah but then you only need a long FG to win, to score a winning TD is 40 more yards with limited time. If we had been down by 6 instead of 5, or if it had been 4th and shorter, I'd agree with you.60% chance he makes the FG and you are still behind
Both of your percentages are way high60% chance he makes the FG and you are still behind
50% chance you make a first down pass on 4th and 6.
Go for it. go for the lead.
It was correct to not go for 4th and short on the opening possession but this is different
They needed 35 yards for a TD.Kirk likely just considered how likely Lester's offense could drive the field for a TD vs. Just getting past midfield for a decent chance at a long fg after barely accumulating 100 yards of offense in the first 3 quarters
It’s a big ask of a first-year kicker on the road. If it’s Drew Stevens, the decision is far more understandable. To be honest it’s really not a bad call, IF YOURE IN REALISTIC MAKABLE FG RANGE…which we weren’t.
Correct. It had to be PAT range essentially to be reasonable. It’s a big ask of a first-year kicker on the road. If it’s Drew Stevens, the decision is far more understandable.
