It's August, so it's almost volleyball time. First exhibition match is next weekend.

2026 schedule

2026 roster

UK has been picked as preseason favorites to finish first in the SEC, just ahead of Texas. Then followed by Texas A&M, Florida and Tennessee. NCAA preseason rankings will come out in a couple weeks.

15 players have been named as preseason all SEC players. 5 of those players are Wildcats.

  • Lizzie Carr – Kentucky (Middle Blocker)
  • Brooklyn DeLeye – Kentucky (Outside Hitter)
  • Morgan Gaerte – Kentucky (Outside Hitter)
  • Kassie O'Brien – Kentucky (Setter)
  • Molly Tuozzo – Kentucky (Libero)

Needless to say, Coach Skinner and his staff have assembled another great team that should compete for a national title. Looking forward to the season.

I'm always excited about Kentucky volleyball. Always have a great team that is very competitive and fun and exciting to watch. Always seem to have a chance at a national title each year too. How can you not love all that? Might be considered a minor college sport but it's really exciting in Memorial on game day.

There are some amazing athletes playing V ball, damn they have some awesome reaction timing.
It's my favorite sport to watch after basketball.

It was announced today that 11 regular season matches will be televised nationally. TV network info has been updated on the UK volleyball schedule page. The first one will the season opener against Wisconsin. That match is Friday, August 21st at 9pm and will air on ESPN.

Uk won both of their exhibition matches. The regular season starts next weekend and UK has a loaded schedule. First match is Friday, August 21st against #6 Wisconsin. Followed by second match on Sunday, August 23rd against # 4 Pitt.

Does anyone know if Fan Duel takes bets on women's volleyball? I don't see it listed now but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

I am both happy and a tad pissed today. Happy that yesterday my favorite volleyball team #3 UK beat #6 Wisconsin three sets to none, 25-20, 26-24 and 25-18. Pissed that my DVR failed to record the match. I was really looking forward to watching it.

Next chance to see them on TV is tomorrow at 4pm on ESPN when they take on #4 Pitt.

The volleyball team is now 3-1 after wins against Utah St and South Florida. In that last match, head coach Craig Skinner got his 500th win. His career record stands at 500-157.

Next match is tonight at 7:00. It’s a home match and part of SEC vs Big Ten challenge as they take on UCLA. Game will air on ESPN2.

We definitely got a great coach in him hope he stays until he retires he always fields a competitive team and he's a National Championship Coach to boot.

College volleyball played....outdoors?

Yep! Tomorrow will be UK's second match in the SEC vs Big Ten Challenge. And it will take place outdoors at Wrigley Field in Chicago. # 3 UK vs # 13 Penn State. Game time 7pm ET, and televised on Fox. Should be interesting!

This was a novelty event with 4 teams’ fans. The configuration of the court showed this was a bit of a gimmick. A fun gimmick, but nevertheless a gimmick with most fans sitting at a distance. There was also a lot of red in the place. I think Nebraska fans were eating it up. But I don’t think the sport is ready for bigger arenas. I think Memorial is probably the perfect size. Nebraska tops the attendance most years at about 8500 fans per match.

The volleyball team is now 7-2 after their trip to the Bahamas, losing to SMU yesterday, then beating Houston earlier today.

After watching several matches so far this season I must say I’m impressed with the talent on this roster. None more than the libero, Molly Tuozzo. Such a phenomenal athlete.

Next up they play those dirty birds of uavel next Sunday, September 20th. The game is at 3pm and will air on ABC.

They are a very good team. Fun to watch. Still need to iron out some kinks. Should have beaten SMU. 3 match points in the first and give it away. Got a chance to win it.
Good they finally get some practice time. Been playing and traveling.
