2026 UK volleyball season

It's August, so it's almost volleyball time. First exhibition match is next weekend.

2026 roster

UK has been picked as preseason favorites to finish first in the SEC, just ahead of Texas. Then followed by Texas A&M, Florida and Tennessee. NCAA preseason rankings will come out in a couple weeks.

15 players have been named as preseason all SEC players. 5 of those players are Wildcats.

• Lizzie Carr – Kentucky (Middle Blocker)

• Brooklyn DeLeye – Kentucky (Outside Hitter)

• Morgan Gaerte – Kentucky (Outside Hitter)

• Kassie O'Brien – Kentucky (Setter)

• Molly Tuozzo – Kentucky (Libero)

Needless to say, Coach Skinner and his staff have assembled another great team that should compete for a national title. Looking forward to the season.

My daughter plays D-1 beach volleyball. Which is a lot of fun to watch. But indoor is also incredible. Go CATS.

I'm always excited about Kentucky volleyball. Always have a great team that is very competitive and fun and exciting to watch. Always seem to have a chance at a national title each year too. How can you not love all that? Might be considered a minor college sport but it's really exciting in Memorial on game day.

Many of the matches will be televised on the SEC network. As the season progresses you can find info on televised games when you view the schedule on the UK volleyball page.

Many are but not all of them. We have season tickets and love going to Memorial to watch them.

My wife played and likes UK vball so I have watched them for quite a few years. I’ve grown to really like the sport. Top flight program!

BTW, she is going up to Chicago with her sisters next month to watch them play in Wrigley Field!

It was announced today that 11 regular season matches will be televised nationally. TV network info has been updated on the UK volleyball schedule page. The first one will the season opener against Wisconsin. That match is Friday, August 21st at 9pm and will air on ESPN.

AVCA Coach’s Poll

The preseason coach’s poll is out and UK begins the season ranked 3rd behind Nebraska and Texas.

Uk won both of their exhibition matches. The regular season starts next weekend and UK has a loaded schedule. First match is Friday, August 21st against #6 Wisconsin. Followed by second match on Sunday, August 23rd against # 4 Pitt.

I am both happy and a tad pissed today. Happy that yesterday my favorite volleyball team #3 UK beat #6 Wisconsin three sets to none, 25-20, 26-24 and 25-18. Pissed that my DVR failed to record the match. I was really looking forward to watching it.

Yep! Tomorrow will be UK's second match in the SEC vs Big Ten Challenge. And it will take place outdoors at Wrigley Field in Chicago. # 3 UK vs # 13 Penn State. Game time 7pm ET, and televised on Fox. Should be interesting!

If they're getting 50k they need to find larger indoor arenas for these events. This should have been easy to see coming. Glad we played in the afternoon.

Nebraska's volleyball match at Wrigley Field suspended due to moisture

The historic volleyball match at Wrigley Field between Missouri and Nebraska was delayed early in the first set due to excessive moisture on court.

This was a novelty event with 4 teams’ fans. The configuration of the court showed this was a bit of a gimmick. A fun gimmick, but nevertheless a gimmick with most fans sitting at a distance. There was also a lot of red in the place. I think Nebraska fans were eating it up. But I don’t think the sport is ready for bigger arenas. I think Memorial is probably the perfect size. Nebraska tops the attendance most years at about 8500 fans per match.

The volleyball team is now 7-2 after their trip to the Bahamas, losing to SMU yesterday, then beating Houston earlier today.

After watching several matches so far this season I must say I’m impressed with the talent on this roster. None more than the libero, Molly Tuozzo. Such a phenomenal athlete.

Next up they play those dirty birds of uavel next Sunday, September 20th. The game is at 3pm and will air on ABC.

The volleyball team is currently 9-2 on the season, and now 1-0 in SEC play after taking out Vandy earlier this week. Still ranked #3 in the country. Tough matchup tomorrow when they play #7 Texas. Tomorrow's match will air on ESPN at 1:00. Not sure how many eyes will be on the game because most folks will be watching NFL football. Thank goodness for the DVR.

Gotta love it with the football win and the entire start of the season for UK athletics in general.
