The football number is particularly striking: Rutgers spent $75.9 million on football alone, up from about $64.4 million the previous year. About $17 million of that was coaches’ compensation, $11.1M support-staff salaries, $4.5M athlete meals and $2M recruiting.
And here’s the problem:
Rutgers brought in about $146.6 million in total athletic revenue, versus $193.8 million in expenses.
That’s a $47.2 million shortfall!
Keli has a REALLY tough job, but it starts with a complete overhaul of Football! Total gut and redo! Greg has hemorrhaged money from the athletic department! He has fooled everybody with his slick BS talk about “almost there”, and winning championships! Keli needs to start cutting the staff NOW, especially ones without expensive contracts. It’s sickening how much money Greg has wasted for such a garbage product!
