I'll keep this in a football thread, but it's a wrestling question.

Why does wrestling stop for blood time?

lol Michigan fans stormed the field after that "win" yesterday ... over Western Michigan.

This would be like Iowa fans storming the mat after winning Soldier Salute.

Perhaps in the same category was Rutgers failure to cancel its fireworks display after UMass curb-stomped them at their home opener.

Close contact with bodily fluids, concern for blood borne illnesses.

A few decades ago, I had a teammate yak on the mat. Went from like 131-121 in three days (a lot more crazy weight mgmt then). They toweled it up, don't even remember a disinfectant.

The MAC has asked the NCAA to consider the game a win for Western Michigan. Turns out the replay officials didn't follow protocol.

This is looking more and more like the '72 Olympic basketball game.

They also sent the request to the Playoff Committee.

This could get real ugly. Western Michigan has a legit shot at the Group of 6 playoff spot. They're preseason MAC favorites, and their toughest remaining nonconference game is Boise State at home. If they otherwise win out and miss the playoffs due to NCAA officials not following in-game protocol, they'd have grounds to sue for lost playoff revenue.

NCAA would be best advised to reverse the outcome now. Not that they ever do what's best.

Just a note that the officials are not NCAA, but B1G. The FBS level of football is not really governed by the NCAA.

Olympic officials and Big10 officials. They both know how to make the wrong call at just the right moment.
Most officiating scandals have lead to changes. The Roy Jones Jr. robbery lead to changing how boxing was officated/scored, losing wrestling gave us the paddle system, the Referines calling Tony Johnson OB ultimately lead to the replay system.

This will probably be forgotten with the NFL starting and another full week of CFB but it also might lead to a few tweaks.
