I guess it depends on whether the SEC rule is viewed as distinct. The NCAA rule was the 5 for 5 that excluded players who have already exhausted their eligibility under the governing rule during their play. This is not that rule but deals with players who have played or contracted with U.S. professional teams. I am not sure a conference rule is a violation of any anti trust law. If enforceable and not a violation of law, I think the SEC is saying go play in another conference.
SEC already clarified and said summer league was fine as long as no contract officially signed. And they weren’t an early entrant draft guy. Mitchell did neither

The portal window was extended when the TRO was granted. He was ineligible to enter it after the tourney was over because at that time he was a graduated senior with no 5th year available.
No he's not. The TRO extended the portal for 4 days when it was granted. He was ineligible for the portal in April because he didn't have a 5th year granted yet.
Everybody arguing he will or will not play. Nobody knows. 
There is no such thing as "ineligible for the portal."
Players with no eligibility have been entering the transfer portal for several years now. It's a database. Any player can enter it. Players with experienced agents were advised to enter the portal in case of NCAA rules changes. 3 of Mark Mitchell's Mizzou teammates did it this past spring with no eligibility.
The problem is Mark chose to hire his inexperienced brother to be his agent, bc he wanted to help his brother start a career and a business. Unfortunately the inexperienced agent didn't give Mark the advice that he needed to hear. This is why you don't mix family with business.

You may be correct on some of your statements but to say Mitchell did not sign a contract is wildly off base. No way the NBA & affiliates would let a kid play without signing a contract. The contract would protect both parties as far a compensation and in the event of an injury.
I’ve argued the same point but was told I was an idiot and got “owned”. Make that make sense. Plus any compensation would have to be taxed. You have to sign stuff for that.
I even posted a link to Missouri athletics that said he signed and played.
Don’t get me wrong, Mitchell should play but it’s semantics at this point.

A common theme is "advice of representation." Their agents told them to cover their bases by entering the portal. Something Mark Mitchell's brother (inexperienced agent) never advised Mark.
I get that but like I said in another post, that doesn’t mean much to me. Just because they did doesn’t mean he should have been expected to do the same, he thought he was out of eligibility due to the NcAA rules at the time. I know if I’m on jury(I know it’s not a jury trial) I am telling the NcAA to kick rocks.
