Lather is very good. She just lost to Kennedy Blades 5-3 earlier this year. I still thought Taina had a chance but she just couldn’t finish her shots.

That info about Blades was in my top line. But yes Fernandez just couldn't finish. I think it's the first match she's had where she had a power deficit. At the U17 level she turned everyone with the wing after he initial TD. She barely moved Lather with the bar. She then got stuck underneath a few times with her single where she can usually power through. It was a great learning experience.

Sinclair on deck on C. Lack of quick finishes other than Ono pushed this a little later than my guess.

Seidel is 6 out on A so I'm guessing 7:15 eastern or so.

Sinclair on deck mat C. Should be tough. Khajiyev went 6-5 with Shamsipour earlier this year

Sinclair looks incredible. Great defense to go along with his always potent offense

Really impressive performance from Sinclair against a really tough guy. Huge match next against Shamsipour

Sinclair vs Khajiyev KAZ 86kg 1/8

Sinclair with the possible step out with the officials conference. Switched to 4 for Sinclair which initiates a challenge. Changed to a step out Sinclair up 1-0. Sinclair tries to spin behind but gets the step out. 2-0. Siinclair single, KAZ whizzer as Sinclair crawls him out. Sinclair single for TD. 5-0 Tries high gut but nothing. back to feet. Sinclair fights off a deep KAZ shot with amazing scrambling for exposure 7-0 . Sinclair snatch single to step out. 8-0. Sinclair 8-0 at the break.

2nd

Sinclair tries ankle pick to nothing. then snaps to front headlock then single. Sinclair's funky style is really giving the officials fits as it's another conference. They score it 2 and 2 for a 10-2 Sinclair lead. Kaz tries shots from space. Crazy scramble for nothing. Sinclair down blocking and being careful. Scramble off a KAZ shot leads to a Sinclair TD and 12-2 TF win.

Official claims challenge attempt is too late and KAZ is protesting.

Brooks vs Ono 57kg 1/4

Ono is sister of PSU Ono, Brooks is at Iowa. You decide who to root for.

Ono holding center quick single for TD and two turns 6-0 Ono but Brooks is challenging. Looks like Brooks didn't come back into a defensive position on one of the turns and that's the outcome 4-0 Ono TD and turn 8-0. TD Ono wins 10-0. She makes her brother look slow footed.

Sinclair wins. Sorry for no pbp since there was a spoiler. Done with pbp.
This again? I didn’t post scores. I waited til the match was over and you never posted the first period or anything. I was waiting but once the match was over and you hadn’t posted anything I made a post. Never once did I post a score of a match but I am going to post about the matches as they happen. Don’t be a baby. Everyone loves your pbp including me so please keep doing them

There were 3 US matches going at the same time. No post was made about Seidel or Sinclair. I waited until after the match was over. I didn’t even give the result but I’ll edit to make you both happy. It’s crazy we can’t talk about the matches as they happen

I stand corrected. I didn't realize there were 3 US matches going on at the same time. My apologies.

Maybe you and @Coastal2 can tag team the pbp if there's multiple matches going at once.

Goodness people have very particular ideas about how a public message board should be. Aside from whatever I think the etiquette should or shouldn’t be, I might suggest it’s unproductive to expect others to conform to yours.

I am appreciative of all the posts. Zz’s previews of this tournament enrich my understanding. Pbp is amazing if I doze off and miss a match. And when I’m watching alone in the dark, I love having the camaraderie to share in the fun with others after a great match. Spoilers really don’t bother me personally—I read the pbp to catch up on what happened, not so much to “experience” the match. But that’s just me.

Also: Here’s a tip when I do pbp: right at the start of the match I post my post with the matchup names, etc. then I edit that post with my pbp, reposting and re editing occasionally (often just at the break or during a challenge or injury) throughout the match. Keeps the content near the top of the reactions and allows people to freely discuss below. It works great. 👍

Care to describe the match at all? Inquiring Sleepyheads want to know! 😆
Gladly. Ended up Sinclair winning 4-4 on criteria. Shamsipour with the typical Iranian style. Dug underhooks and kept trying to take Sinclair to the edge. He got 3 stepouts and a caution and 1 at the very end of the match. Sinclair had 2 takedowns. Really beautiful high crotch and clean finish for his 2nd td. High level match between 2 really elite guys

Seidel is impressive! He is so good with his positioning.
Kid is impressive everywhere. Can scramble, can turn, can get to legs when needs to, great head hands and can score from the front head position.

He was an afterthought to me until he beat Blaze. Turning me into a bigger fan everyday. wow.

His houdini cartwheel thing vs the Iranian was a masterclsss in mat awareness, and I loved how that same Iranian thought he had an advantage with a deep hook on the mat and Aaron just tied him up in a folkstyle knot.

Are you sure you can do that 😂. This pbp stuff is hilarious. No one has the rights to PBP 🤷.
