Apparently I’m dying. First let me explain what if you have the patience. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis in the worst way at only age 38, along with Muscular Dystrophy. Point is I have been doing just as AS says in the most aggressive cases like my mine, Vascular Disease would be what brings me down. I’ve literally been leaking blood like an oil change out of my mid to lower leg’s below the knee. I’ve battled the 17 out of this disease and although I’m only 38 going on 39 I’m sick of having the largest spinal surgery ever done at Vandy. Now I’ve had a full breakdown of that surgery nevermind the one before that. Of course I’ll keep pushing forward and try to live through the next surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Another 14-16 hour minimum full 20 plus level annular fusion from complete breakdown of my spine already. I’m sorry to complain I just got some pretty devastating news today. You guys have no idea how hard I’ve debated putting this on here. Sorry if it bothers you guys. I absolutely had to get it out.
May God bless you for your next surgery and praying that it’s successful. Thank you for sharing

We've had words on here before.

Fight.
Laugh whenever you can.
Get back home.

I vow to bring the cigars and bourbon of your choice, and we'll argue in person. Then we will laugh like hell at the craziness of life.

Prayers and best of luck. Sorry to hear this. Try to always do whatever brings you and those around you joy and happiness
Yeah, that’s another problem—trying to keep my fiancée of 15 years calm. She’s having a hard time imagining life without me. We have a special relationship, and if you think the word ‘soulmate’ is corny or not real, then you haven’t met us. It destroys me knowing that I have diseases that will likely take me sooner rather than later, but I can’t seem to find the right words to convey what my doctors have told me.

Awful to read this- ugh. Pushing through long term pain, illness, and disease takes its toll on everyone. Its impossible to be positive and upbeat 100% of the time.
I am glad to see there is a plan from your care team, even if it may seem insurmountable.

As for posting about your health news here, SPS doesnt need another thread about whether Lebby is on the hot-seat. SPS does need occasional updates like yours from posters, when they are comfortable and wanting to share.
That really touched me for some reason. Seriously thanks from the bottom of my heart! Also the same to everyone else reaching out. I’m sorry I’m just too weak to get to everyone immediately but I will.

I’m sorry guys so many of you touched my heart and I couldn’t respond to everyone as I’m feeling incredibly grateful also incredibly exhausted. I want to think every single one of you and I will after getting more rest. Forgive me if I didn’t get to yours until I get up. I won’t forget a soul.

My nephew has DMD. He just turned 17 and I see the struggles that he and his parents encounter. It's tough and can't imagine what you are going through.
Thank you so very much much. I am suffering from a very similar form myself it’s just gotten incredibly aggressive. Seems as though right now if anything is close to taking me down it’s that damn spine contorting Illness Ankylosing Spondylitis in my case. Or probably both. I wake up everyday studded im still alive, with blood leaking through my hose socks I bought. I’m about find out at least if they can draw any fluid off of my gut. I pray so just so it doesn’t hurt to bad to even walk or move around.

I head to sixpack this morning to hear what's going on to validate my feeling that this year's football team is wasting my money yet again this year, I get slapped with the reality of what's really important in this world. So instead of being PO'ed about how the games may go, maybe I should be thankful for the good excuse to stop working for a while and the ability to head to Starkville to enjoy the weekends with friends and family. Praying for your healing and relief from your condition.

When I was fighting cancer, I had this hanging on the wall... "Your illness does not define you, your strength and courage does." Good luck and God bless.
I truly believe in that saying as I have been fighting against numerous things as a kid. This is not easy for me to say but my Sister passing at 13 I was 5. Then my dad dies in a most unlikely way dove hunting accident when I was 8. When I young an actually believed I was cursed. It was ptsd and major anxiety disorder I have to take meds for to this day that I’m not proud of. I’m proud to be still fighting though and being alive still. Thanks so much. Sorry you had to go through that at all. I’d be proud of the fight you put up and won! Maybe I can win also! I know I said too much but it means a lot.
