Apparently I’m dying. First let me explain what if you have the patience. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis in the worst way at only age 38, along with Muscular Dystrophy. Point is I have been doing just as AS says in the most aggressive cases like my mine, Vascular Disease would be what brings me down. I’ve literally been leaking blood like an oil change out of my mid to lower leg’s below the knee. I’ve battled the 17 out of this disease and although I’m only 38 going on 39 I’m sick of having the largest spinal surgery ever done at Vandy. Now I’ve had a full breakdown of that surgery nevermind the one before that. Of course I’ll keep pushing forward and try to live through the next surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Another 14-16 hour minimum full 20 plus level annular fusion from complete breakdown of my spine already. I’m sorry to complain I just got some pretty devastating news today. You guys have no idea how hard I’ve debated putting this on here. Sorry if it bothers you guys. I absolutely had to get it out.

I appreciate you sharing.......through all the "faults" of the many posters here (including me), this board has always seemed to be a place filled with folks that give a rip when someone is in a hard place........on some of my worst days this board has been a great escape.........praying for peace in this journey for you, and strength to continue the fight my friend.

I hope the surgery goes well and recovery is faster than expected. It’s things like this that help me be grateful for being healthy and gives me motivation to take advantage of that gift. So, thank you for posting, and I’m sorry it’s your path to endure.

Never hesitate to “get it out” here.

If this board gives someone in your situation a pick me up, I can’t think of a higher purpose for us.

I hope you get some better news and outcomes soon.

Awful to read this- ugh. Pushing through long term pain, illness, and disease takes its toll on everyone. Its impossible to be positive and upbeat 100% of the time.
I am glad to see there is a plan from your care team, even if it may seem insurmountable.

As for posting about your health news here, SPS doesnt need another thread about whether Lebby is on the hot-seat. SPS does need occasional updates like yours from posters, when they are comfortable and wanting to share.

Thanks to everyone I’m having an updated MRI already did most of the bloodwork etc. I couldn’t be more appreciative I just wanted to thank each and every one of you that have been supportive. I’m incredibly exhausted and hurting badly so I’m lying back down. I’ll be back this later afternoon. I’m truly touched and greatly appreciate yall and will read ever post today shorty. Also know I didn’t bother with proofreading it grammar/punctuation. Lol

Hey man, so sorry for what you are going through. I hope you have a good social support system that can walk with you through this. My wife deals with chronic health problems, and I know how exhausting and demoralizing it can be. I know the word "privilege" gets thrown around in woke-ish ways that are not helpful. But after experiencing what my wife and some of her family have gone through, I truly believe that health privilege is a thing. When I was a kid, no one in my family was really ever sick. I had no idea what so many have to go through until my wife became ill... and stayed ill - for years.

God bless you and everyone around you.

Besides being cathartic for you, it is relevant for anyone who reads it putting their own daily miseries into perspective.

I hope the treatment you're receiving helps. God bless, and keep us informed.

Takes great courage to share the most difficult things about ourselves, and its hard to imagine much that could be more difficult than this. Cheers to you, brother. Hope you find at least some joy each day in this journey.
