Charges were never filed. It’s like Mickey Joseph the cops saw enough physical evidence The torn swimsuit and scratches to haul him to the clink that night. But as @Tim Verghese reported charges won’t be filed. Do that means he was never charged for anything. The DA probably reviewed the evidence and interviewed the chick and if was she was reluctant at all ( probably was ) since either are Florida residents he wasn’t going to to waste the counties money.
He mentions that he my have CTE which doesn’t help Nebraska out in reinstating him to come back.

Waste of money and the victim didn't want to press charges. So a pregnant woman and the unborn baby get roughed up. No biggie.

Didn’t say it was no biggie . Just saying what the DA probably saw . It sounded like a few scratches where the swimsuit was ripped.i don’t believe there was any evidence of her getting hit or knocked down. Nelson is a POS for doing anything to his pregnant girlfriend but without her pressing it there probably was only going to be a small fine and like it or not a DA will tell you that’s a waste of time and money.

Did they actually get roughed up? You can’t deduce much from what the police report says.
Your comment seems a bit misogynistic, which will play well with some of the guys on this message board. I'm not even going to answer that. Before you know it, the group think on here will have the incident reduced to Nelson being the actual victim and the unborn baby is somehow to blame. Damn.

Some assume the worst. I’ll try to apply logic. Given the fact that she has a kid by another dude and that while in advanced pregnancy decided to go to Key West, I’m assuming she’s bat **** crazy and over reacted to their spat. Not defending what he allegedly did. Not gonna lock him up for WHAT THE POLICE REPORT SAYS.

Look I have no idea if she was roughed up . But you certainly don’t either so quit acting you do . I was going by the police report. It said she had a tear in the bathing suit and some scratches . Look Nelson is a POS for doing anything to her but Iike dingle I am using logic on what I read on the police report and by the fact she was didn’t persue it as being the reason the DA decided not to press charges.

There's my point. Remember too, the woman is pregnant with his kid. I don't give two ***** if she flirted with a guy or was late getting ready. That's no excuse. You don't lay a finger on a woman and especially not a pregnant woman. Too many guys on here must think that the baby's life doesn't mean anything and are quick to defend the guy. I am glad that you aren't one of them.

I don't know who said anything about locking him up. But anyway this story is so "Nebraska football". So much for putting the nose to the grindstone and getting ready for the season. Spend that money, travel. He earned that $100-200k, right? He suits up for a team with sell out crowds and national championship trophies. Who cares about the losing? Not his fault.

We can still blame Rhule, right?

I’m not advocating for Mekhi Nelson in any way, but Josh Davis was horrible. And a clear example how bad Solich’s recruiting was at the end of his run. But that’s been beaten to death, no need to rehash.
Pork Chop Ross was the man for the first two years of the Callahan.

Incredible change of direction. From the endzone first row I saw him do a lateral jump cut of at last 3 yards for a TD.

Ultimately he was brought in case Nelson couldn’t go. He can go - Tyke was told to take a Hyke.
Honestly, I hope he can get back on to Iowa Western and I hope we didn’t burn any bridges with them by taking him and dumping him.

I could get on board with that if we knew Nelson could produce. But since I don’t know that, I like the idea of having a few bodies to choose from as the season goes on.

But what can we really expect from our RB coach? It’s too much trouble to go out and recruit a competitive room. And then you have to coach more guys and manage more expectations and egos. It’s just simpler to decide who you are going to play, and then you have more time for soduku puzzles.

I was on record after watching his clips that I didn't see much to get excited about. I think he showed some short area quickness, and some pretty good balance. He also looked to be physical. But to me I didn't see anything that I'd put him ahead of our top 3 guys.

To me he would've been competing with Ives and Booth for 4,5, and 6th. I don't lose sleep over those type guys. It's funny how this guy was just "ok" but as soon as he leaves his potential is "through the roof" lol. You gotta laugh.

I won't lose a wink of sleep. From what I seen it was a shot in the dark. Like I said then I could be wrong but I simply didn't see it.

It’s criminal how poorly that position has been managed. Crazy that they didn’t bring in a seasoned RB from a non P4 school (at a minimum).
I guess I disagree. I’ve seen enough from the top 3 guys to think we’re fine there IF the O line is as improved as guys like Jay Moore say it is. All 3 of our top guys have big play potential IMO. Booth ran as hard as anybody in the spring scrimmage. Even if we had brought in a portal guy, he would be learning a new system to him.

Yeah I have no read on what to make of our room. I'm not as into the big play speed rather than vision, patience, and toughness. Do those guys have that? Who the freak knows. I believe Ives will play the Dowdell roll from 2024. Outside of that I have no idea.

I’ve seen Mozee and Nelson do some really good things and Rule impressed me in the spring scrimmage. People forget that Emmitt’s snaps early on were limited IMO because he danced too much behind the line. Sometimes it just isn’t there and you have to just lower your head and take what you can get.

I heard he beat a pregnant woman thinking he would get a mulligan as that was part of our running back culture...but Rhule no likey Tyke.

I don't think it matters that much. Emmitt was AWESOME in our last three games and we got boat raced. Running back is such a marginal position unless the guy can carry 40 times, and nobody is going to do that with all of these wrs getting paid. And a running game needs a complimentary defense which we don't have. This certainly isn't a room to change to a power running game, decent if we can pass first, not likely though.
