Of course, KF is not going to name a QB1 yet. The "loser" would immediately transfer somewhere, knowing he will not get a meaningful snap in two seasons, barring a fatal injury.

Uh, Not. There's no more transfers or portal after a two week window in January which ends on the 16th of Jan. No spring portal anymore and none after that. This is the roster unless a guy just quit, and that's not happening

So did anyone catch the other QBs?

How did Sullivan do? Fitzgerald?

I swear we had another who was more of a dual threat or was Bessenger?

Even if they have be comparable in practice. Showing out when it matters and when the lights are bright matters. Some guys just don't have it when it counts and Hecklinski showed today he can perform when it matters. This needs to be considered.
Yesterday didn’t matter nor did it count, fyi.

This performance from Heck so far does not help the court of public opinion for Brown. If Hawk fans see QB play in person, they'll most definitely jump to the Heck camp if they haven't already.
Well said my Hawkeye brother- he just adds that extra element that Hank just doesn’t have … quickness and speed and a great arm … No knock on Hank but you have to go where the gold is

Didn't hear much about Fitz, but Sullivan seems improved and had some nice throws. Couldn't find Sullivan's highlights on YouTube for some reason, but they're on Twitter.

Fitz highlights

Thanks for sharing and sorry I was lazy in looking for it.

Sullivan did make some good throws and good decisions... but made some really bad throws and bad decisions too. He still has 4 years left so we will see what happens. Did you all catch Doll on the blitz pickup?? I think it was on the TD pass. Great block!

Fitz looks like the walk on QB. Made some good decisions but connections with the receivers didn't look great. Accuracy not always there.

In my very uneducated opinion based only on what I've seen:

1. Heck
2. Sullivan/Bessinger
4. Brown
5. Fitz

It is obviously still
1. Brown/ Heck
3. Sullivan
4. Bessinger
5. Fitz.

I wasn't there so I appreciate the observations and videos from those who were. Sullivan may be a good QB for the future.

Did Myslinski get any reps with the 1s?

Hope that guy can stay healthy!!
Kudos to MM for remaining on the roster but he’s had so few game reps in his 5(?) years due to countless injuries, there’s no way he’s good enough to play much at this level.

Give all the non-starter reps to the younger dudes.

Don't be obtuse...
Yes. Norvell said that as stated.
And yes, Norvell was paraphrasing Fry. It's really not that complicated.

“Bass was a four-year letterman for Coach Hayden Fry’s Hawkeyes in the late 1980s. A 5-foot-11, 230-pound fullback who Fry called a “rolling ball of butcher knives” captained and was named co-Most Valuable Player of Iowa’s 1989 squad. Bass played on Hawkeye teams that advanced to the 1986 and 1987 Holiday Bowl games and the 1988 Peach Bowl.”

“A native of Omaha who prepped at Omaha Central High School, Bass will accompany Iowa’s current game captains to midfield for the pre-game coin toss. He will be a guest on Iowa’s sideline during the game.”
