They can limit his weigh-ins all they want, problem is, he has to weigh-in 3 days in a row at NCAAs. With his cut, that is brutal.
Agree it won't be easy . And no competition all year long simulates it. You would think someone would schedule 3 in a row 🤷

I'd love to see it, if it means bringing back the Covid-era extra matches.

Extremely skeptical that it happens. Conferences cap football travel rosters. Even if they lifted that cap for non-revenue sports, the schools themselves will impose their own caps on a sport that loses money.

If I'm Pat Kraft, I'm OK with sending the full team to NCAAs, probably B10s, and some regular season tourney where most/all of the guys can compete. I'm not approving the flights and hotels for 15 extra guys to sit on the bench in Madison and Minneapolis on an extended weekend. And that's for a very well funded program.
… but we’re talking about someone like Bouzakis being on a pitch count…the coaches know well before the weekend if they’re going to rest him, keep him home at his “walking around weight”…so then the alternate travels and wrestles…they shouldn’t have him make the cut and not wrestle… that’s the whole issue.

Not sure where to drop this. Dang... if this all plays out, 149 would be absolutely bananas this year.

Does anybody know any humans who work for and/or represent this "outlet" = The College Wrestling Report?

Website is no help, and all its content looks like it could easily have been created with AI: https://www.thecollegewrestlingreport.com/contact
Twitter's anonymous: https://x.com/TheCollegeWrR

I did manage to learn that the human being behind the newish-look The Open Mat (TOM), which once used to have its content created by the great Alex Steen, is now / has been for a few years Andrew Hipps--who himself was once a content creator and part-time owner at Intermat.

But I've got no leads on humans directing the bots that create CWR content. tia, I'll hang up & listen

Not specific to this situation but the new 5 in 5 eligibility rules with its elimination of bout limits for redshirts makes the entire roster available. Coaches can rest starters that need a break, using the rest of the roster as a sort of bullpen, giving the starter a bit of a break approaching the post season.
making "resume rankings" even more meaningless than in the past...

David’s head is getting bigger and bigger. Can’t wait to watch it pop.
4 in the finals, 5 champs in first 2 years. His head may be getting bigger, but it isn't like the results don't warrant a growth in confidence.

I think it is smart to keep it out there. I have had a dozen friends, who are strongly interested casual fans, who ask all of the time why aren't we wrestling the Cowboys.

A match in Stillwater is on ESPN and probably sets viewership records, at PSU and the Big10 wrestling viewership sets a record. It is a match that would attract all viewers who have any wrestling interest.

David should apologize for pissing Cael off, and then ask if they can wrestle.

Heck, start it off with a Cael v David bout.

He was gonna go 141 but now with Mendez back he won't have a spot . So sounds 125 is back on the table . Gotta limit his weigh ins and keep him as fresh as possible for March
This seems to assume that Mendez will definitely go a 141, which per other recent info doesn't appear to be a done deal. Isn't Bouzakis-141 and Mendez-149 a legit possibility?

The sophomore @125 should transfer.
Is this you switching from the Brown brothers (listed in WS Elig Chart as SO Kade at 149 & TRFR Karson at 141), to the Mills brothers, who are listed on the WS Elig Chart both as TRFR: Teequavious Mills at 125 & Antonio Mills at 133?

(this is me trying to learn)

I think he's joking about the Wrestlestat-ism of loading the team name at 125.

It was just my attempt at sarcasm. El jefe caught the joke. On your screen shot "Ohio State" is listed as a sophomore at 125.

It is different because Iowa owes PSU a home dual from I think 2020.
2012-13.
In 2015-16 Iowa rotated off of the schedule and it was assumed Iowa would repay the PSU visit. Both sides agreed to an OOC match, but Brands (even after acknowledging he owed Cael a visit) refused to bring his team to State College. Brands insisted that PSU go to Iowa and Cael refused. In 2016 Iowa finished 5th or 6th and in a dual with PSU in front of a BTN TV audiance would have been on the receiving end of a face stomping.
2018-19 was the next time Iowa could have repaid the trip but again Brands refused.

I have concluded Brands is only going to wrestle PSU when the Big10 mandates it.

I'd love to see Van Ness beat this, and I think he's capable. But I don't see how he "gotta be #2" at a weight with returning national champs Henson, Valencia, Vega, and (allegedly) Mendez.

Also no way Mesenbrink is #2 at whatever weight he competes ... though we all know that will be 165.

svn is due and I think the biggest challenge out of that group would be Mendez (I'm aware of pass results). My crystal ball has him 1 or 2 when it is all over
