The WNBA has to be one of the dumbest, misguided and incompetently run organizations in all of sports. They constantly shoot themselves in the foot with how they act or the statements they make.

Every few weeks it just reminds everyone old enough that it's the new roller derby of the 1970s without enough hot chicks. Sophie alone can't make me watch that paint dry or those weaves fly.

Its gonna be wild to see how far Kanter takes this.

Regardless, the WNBA is meeting this week to determine what to do about this and come to a conclusion on who can and cant play in this league. It almost for sure will be that only biological women can play, because if they let in one transformer, they may potentially have to let in someone like Kanter. And they wont. It will have to be all or nothing.

So in the end, the WNBA is about to.. as Sophie Cunningham tried to advocate at the very beginning of this... protect women's sports.

Lets see Colbert give it a Chefs Kiss:
Stephen Colbert Chefs Kiss GIF by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert

They're just going to collude and coerce their individual team owners not to draft or sign people that aren't "verifiably" (lmao) trans. If Enes doesn't have a weave and a sportsbra or fake eyelashes and makeup by the time the meeting is over, they wont allow him to be drafted.

She’s def not a scratch golfer but does have a decent looking shot.
Not sure where I heard that but I know she plays well.
My real point is that she has other options and at some point in this quagmire she may actually choose to play golf.
the entire WNBA is madness. It’s going to be interesting to see how they handle the men turned women applying for the draft. Lol

Without all of this drama right now the WNBA would not have much of a following outside of Clark, and Cunningham. I remember an NBA player (not his name but the interview) many years ago that said something on the lines that his agent told him if you are not doing well or playing well, when you finally do something noteworthy find a camera and scream into it just after doing it and the fans and others will remember you for it. It is kind of like marketing yourself.

I don’t see this as political. I don’t think it’s silly and I don’t think it’s a “distraction”. It’s not hyperbole. It’s right out in the open, on their social media, in their interviews, on ESPN. It’s not made up folks. There’s a major bigotry problem in the WNBA. I have no idea why saying that gets posts deleted. It’s not made up. Like I said, it’s out there for the world to see.
It is but they gaslight you into thinking that it doesn’t exist and if you notice then you are a bigot! It’s right out of their playbook.

Literally all the WNBA has right now to generate interest is CC and Sophie Cunningham and multiple players seem to think it’s helpful to constantly attack both of them. Why bite the hand that feeds you?!
It’s cool taking up for CC but she thinks and promotes the exact line of thinking that get her treated like that so I’ve stopped caring about trying to protect her. If she buys into the garbage than she deserves the outcome.

When has she promoted anything other than the team winning?? She keeps her mouth shut because she's already getting beat up and it will get worse if she takes a stance either way. She's stuck. PS, she put her head in her hands when her coach went on that rant……..

PS, this is not a political thread. There was zero reason for you to reply to a very old comment drum it up. That’s just wrong when you know well you are flirting with a thread being taken down. Self-servng. But that’s message boards. Me me me.

You know damn well what she promotes off the court so don’t hit me with that BS. Also the only reason anyone talks about the league is their politics and things exactly like the treatment of CC. I will reply to whatever I feel like btw.

What are YOU talking about?????? She doesn't promote what that league has turned into. WTF??? Do some research first before trying to turn a thread political and completely misrepresenting CC. Talk about a bull in a China shop. Her being the face of the league and a top 3 player despite the Angel Reece comedy has driven some to ouright like about it. Wow. Pathetic.

Of course you won't back it up because you are dead wrong on CC and can't provide a single example for what you are claiming. I can provide several refuting it but don't want to embarrass you. Just take the L and move on. You don't like her for a reason. That's your right, but you smearing her with a lie is a pile of dog ish and weak as a kitten.

I have no idea what you’re referencing here. So you’re saying she “promoted” cheap fouls like this? How exactly did she do that?

No that’s not what I’m saying.
Dude, you explicitly said she “promotes the exact line thinking that gets her treated like that.” Sure sounds like that is what you were saying.

What exactly has she done or said to promote her mistreatment?

She agrees with the liberal policies who promote the ideals that is causing her the treatment she receives in the league.

Women’s basketball is better than it has ever been. Still not close to good high school boy ball. And, not worth watching unless there is simply no choice or maybe just to see one standout dominate.

You’re dead wrong, know you’re dead wrong and are smeering her with a lie because you hate how good she is. But I like when someone shows me who they are as I believe them the first time. What a jerk.

Politics have polluted your brain. Liberal policies have not a damn thing to do with hard fouls on a basketball court.

I don’t deny that there is player resentment toward Clark and Cunningham. But the reason ain’t rooted in politics, but instead the normal human instinct to feel resentment toward those perceived to have not earned their rewards. They don’t like the fact that the league’s two most popular players are so NOT because they’re the best or win championships, but instead largely because of physical appearance and a public perception that they’re the two “normal” girls (ie. straight white) in a league full of abnormals (ie. black lesbian).

For cripes sake, Sophie Cunningham doesn’t even start, yet is like the league’s hottest commercial property right how. A mere bench player on a fairly average team gets far more media attention, public adulation and fame than the league MVP. How does that make sense?

It should be no mystery to anyone familiar with human nature why that situation would start to breed resentment.

Wow. This is doofustry apologetics. Caitlyn Clark is a fan favorite because she looks like a “normal white” girl? Dude, lemming politics and religion have polluted your brain.

(And, yes, you are preaching the soft sermon from a religious cult)

What a moronic take. Today must be amateur day. Clark is liked because she's a generational talent and is fun to watch. Her passing game is something never before seen in the womens game. Period. Cunningham is now liked because she took up for her last year. Period. She's been in the league forever, so it didn't just take off after several years because of looks. Some hate Clark because she's good and they hate it that she's good because they don't like her for an obvious reason that I won't go into.

Michael Jordan kept his mouth shut and he's the GOAT to some. The same people say "how dare that woman" and smeer her for doing the same thing.

You are deluded if you don’t believe that looks play a HUGE part in Cunningham’s outsized popularity level. And also if you believe those two would be just as popular without the straight white midwestern all american girls image.

You’re right that Clark is a great player. But she certainly ain’t as good as Aja Wilson. Wilson is about to win her record 5th MVP and will likely one day be remembered as the greatest player ever. If it were just about merit, she’d easily be the most famous player in the word. But instead Clark is far more famous, gets far more media coverage, and is paid WAY more endorsement money than Wilson.

Why do you suppose that is?

Clark was a record breaker in college and made a name for herself, as a result, getting women’s college basketball a big boost when she “broke” Maravich’s scoring record. That brought her huge attention and when she continued to shine and be a top scorer in the WNBA it carried over. This progressive reinventing the story so a religion can be perpetuated is shear foolishness.

If we buy the dumbassery, we must ask why Candace Parker was so incredibly loved and popular when she never led the WNBA in scoring? You know, Candace Parker, that normal little white girl.

We're mostly on the same page. Her looks ignited a fire, a fire that was lit with a ton of fans on this night in June of 2025.
