The talk of extending him is crazy. He has systematically destroyed their farm system which is almost barren without anything to show for it. The only guys on the team from the farm are generally replacement level guys like Bohm and Stott, and the acquisitions are old and expensive. If they even have a season next year, I’d be a seller if they are scuffling along as wild card hopefuls.
They have a run diff of zero after 120 games. It’s amazing they’re in wildcard contention. Nothing about this roster says they’re close to being contenders.

And it was all predictable coming into the season. They did almost nothing to upgrade an aging roster that had been declining for a few seasons.

Extending Dombrowski would be nuts. They need a different type of GM to reset and prep for their next era.

Thin skinned is the baseline for just about every MLB player nowadays.
Yeah you’re probably right. As a Braves’ fan I thought Sale whining about the balk call a day later and getting tossed before Sunday’s game epitomizes that.

Yeah, I'm starting to think there is something in the Phils' clubhouse which can suck the offensive prowess from even the best hitters. I'm sure Arraez will be fine even after the last two games being 0-5 and 0-6. But as a fan, I've grown accustomed to hitters being wildly bipolar at the plate.

Harrison Bader seemed to do well.

yes, but we have more total all time losses than any other team does- that's a level of pain above the rest

we're just better
To put into perspective how bad the Phillies were for more than 8 decades, with the stretch from 1918-1950 being particularly brutal, the Phils would have to have more than 32 consecutive seasons winning 15 more games than the Pirates every year for the Pirates to pass them in losses. There is currently a 476 loss gap between the teams.

The Braves have 110 more losses than the Pirates, but I see the Pirates making up (so to speak)that ground pretty quickly.

The Dodgers have played roughly the same amount of games as the Phils and have 1260+ less all time losses.

Based loaded, no out, top of the 8th, and the Fightins hit into their 4th double play of the evening, and then hit a long flyout. smh

The bats have not been good enough tonight.
