What is weird is that you focus on playing video games and the number of his children instead of his role as probably the greatest entrepreneur ever. Major founder of Paypal, Major founder of chatgpt, major founder of Tesla, which now provides a very good self-driving function. His company hired by govt to provide rocket services and you focus on him bragging about his gaming skills. With regard to his children, he believes the West is not having enough babies (many countries are falling behind replacement rate) and he is doing his part to ameliorate the problem, which is logical although debatable.
You on the other hand think you are competent to criticize him as weird (of course, a brilliant person will not be the same as an average one), when your intellect is many levels below his as is the intellects of 99.99% of the people on earth.
He doesn't stay in the lane of being an entrepreneur. He's the one venturing out into the media landscape and becoming a government worker who gutted programs that congress funded while working for the executive branch. Now he owns a large social media platform and he constantly posts pro nationalism things on his platform, thus entering the political arena. You don't get to just say oh why are you criticizing him when he's just an entrepenuer. You are actively running defense for the richest man in the world.
I think im plenty competent to criticize him. I also think my criticisms are valid. He has sold his debt from his AI company to his space travel company. He's hiding his risks by moving them around. The risks never went away.
The only thing making him money is speculation right now. I do think its valid to criticize his IPO and the rewriting of rules of IPO's just to guarantee the funding of his risk with other people's money. Speculation has kept him afloat this past decade.
I have followed musk since 2011. I've invested in his companies. Where you adorn him with flowers, I was there benefitting from his successes. His approach is burning out and will come to a head. He's very powerful, and criticizing him is a healthy thing to do for society.
I don't game any more at all because the games I want to play are basically part time jobs with all of the ******** you have to do to get the best gear. It would be awesome to be able to just jump on for an hour every night and have a fully levelled up and geared out character to do the end game stuff rather than having to grind and farm and it would be great if I could afford to pay some gamer kid a living wage to do it for me.
That said, I absolutely would give credit where it was due.

Elon is undoubtedly the greatest innovator and businessman in human history. Despite his historic work in electric vehicles, rockets, etc I would still argue that his greatest achievement was ridding the planet of the cancer that was USAID. I know the people of central and south america are certainly enjoying its absence.

The perception of the press and of the public has virtually nothing to do with merits the of what Musk does. I was mostly criticizing the interviewer and not so much praising musk. I was saying she was asking a stupid lazy question and musk pointed out that whatever his popularity or unpopularity is, hers and most importantly, her business,is not so great either. Simply a waste of time for her to ask such a dumb and rude question. Also, pointing out what a worthless, superficial, putz the interviewer is.

I would think that goading Musk like this would only cause him to insert himself deeper into the political world. He could just dump a $100 million or so or heck even $1billion and not even miss it.
I guess it depends on your definition/use of the word authoritarian. Enforcing secure borders means establishing rules and then following those rules. Isn't enforcing to the rules somewhat authoritarian by definition.
I was ok until you fell back to the use of the word "Fascist". I doubt seriously if anyone in the administration directed any ICE officer to "shoot to kill if someone attempts to drive a car in your direction". That was the decision of a single agent.

An investment related thread a week or two ago and I don't remember you saying you invested in Tesla or other Musk companies.(Correct me if I am wrong) So, why don't you tell us what you made from your musk investments and when they were made and how much.
I would add that historically I've not been a big fan of Tesla or electric cars. However, if they become self-driving that is a transformational and extremely effective product which would change my mind.
