Your criticisms of Musk other than weirdness are fair. The interviewer should have raised them. You had
An investment related thread a week or two ago and I don't remember you saying you invested in Tesla or other Musk companies.(Correct me if I am wrong) So, why don't you tell us what you made from your musk investments and when they were made and how much.
I would add that historically I've not been a big fan of Tesla or electric cars. However, if they become self-driving that is a transformational and extremely effective product which would change my mind.
I got out sometime in the early 2020 to 2021 time frame. I can't remember exactly.
The point I've been making for awhile now is that the Tesla self driving is as good as its going to get. The issue is with the platform itself, it only uses cameras no LiDr. Without LiDr you will continue to see Tesla cyber taxis only in really dry places and geofenced to those areas.
Whats interesting is all the free grace Tesla gets around self driving. Its a cool feature on the highway. But its never going to be a cyber taxi fleet without the LiDr.
Tesla, fell on its face with teh cybertruck, fell on its face with the Semi trucks, fell on its face with the new coup, fell on its face with the 'hyper loop' in Vegas. Its been a series of blunders from the company and the writing was on the wall. Their most profit comes from trading carbon credits, aka government subsidies.
Musk is really good at spending the governments money.
Musk has been playing a shell game with his debt and that will eventually fail. Although the IPO of SpaceX might spread that failure out to his investors.
If Tesla had dropped to 130 dollars in 2024, Musk would have been margin called and wiped out. Im pretty shocked this didn't happen, but I try not to go broke by betting against a hallucinating market.
