I heard the same thing, which is stupid. Pay the kid $7M for this season and $7M for next, $14M, if he leaves we use the money on portal kids. He hung 37 on our 17u team, the kid can play now

Pope's system is not the issue, you have to have good players that get hot and when I say "good", history has proven that most of the time, those players end up being college journeymen.
