You left out the wilted piece of lettuce under the pear. I NEVER ate that crap when she made it, although, I ate every one of those items separately, just not piled together into 1 recipe. YuckPear salad.

But,…. Boiling cabbage smell is something I can still smell today and it’s still awful. Like you, I could smell it before I walked in the door!

My little brother found a great way to end being made to eat stuff he didn’t like. Dad said you’re not leaving table till you eat all of it. So he ate it & promptly threw it up all over the dinner table. I don’t think dad ever made him eat something again.We were always lab rats. Threats of not leaving table until what you were served is gone were frequent. Most of the time, I could do it. One time....no.
Green beans with raisins, it was a baked casserole style dish and those raisins had been pulling liquid and had a nasty texture and flavor. I could not take the texture at all. I made it 3 hours that night sitting at the table
I will add....my eating is very diverse, but thats the one thing I can recall not being able to eat. We were poor, so I definitely still have it in my makeup to eat everything that has been placed in front of me. Hah.We were always lab rats.
