Just glad no draft picks were used in the deal.

I just mentioned the same in a group chat. I didn't think that there was going to be a path out of this that didn't include draft picks or young players on rookie deals, so this is a nice surprise. I also agree with Parrish in that the Grizzles simply could not reward this clown with a trade to somewhere desirable like Miami. Portland is a good compromise and while Grant's contract isn't ideal, it's also not a complete albatross

Yeah Grant is still a viable player and a good veteran to have with this young team. He’s on the back end of his career and has a bigger contract than what he’s worth but it’s not ridiculous either.

Some of the trade ideas being thrown around were nauseating at how bad they were for Memphis so this was a pleasant surprise.

The roster is very bloated right now so they might still make some moves to trim it down.

Portland isn't an awful landing spot for him. He's probably thrilled to not be heading to the Kings or Nets.

Morant highlights were so cool to watch while he was in college and the first couple years with the Grizz.
Celebrating that dude now though?...no chance. I dont get why he is still beloved as a player or product.

On a totally unrelated note, I am continually shocked that his shoe line is so coveted. The current version is wildly popular despite being seriously underwhelming in design and materials.
The two best Nike basketball shoes right now(not saying much since Nike basketball shoes overall are currently reductive trash) are actually the two WNBA players Nike has signature shoes with- Sabrina 3 and A'Two.
