Did he have these issues at PSU? I know everyone speculated that he had one foot out the door by midseason, even though it was being reported that it was an "injury" issue.

I’m sure he didn’t get whatever the full value of his contract was but stilll - emblematic of the many issues with this era of CFB. If he stayed at PSU he’s likely still playing football. Ah well.

Maybe Campbell really does know what he’s doing with money.
You must be new around here.

We have no way of knowing if the same situation would have occurred here with Coleman. Whatever is going on with him, I hope he gets it figured out.

What's next for Coleman?

Though Coleman has been medically disqualified from the football program, the Vols have kept Coleman on scholarship, per a source, in an effort to support him. That makes his immediate future as a football player somewhat murky. The transfer portal is closed, and the NCAA recently addressed the ghost transfer loophole that those like Xavier Lucas (from Wisconsin to Miami) took advantage of to transfer outside the portal structure, which means Coleman has few options to leave and play football elsewhere in 2026.

NCAA bylaws do make an exception to the transfer portal windows for athletes who have had an aid reduction, cancellation or nonrenewal. However, with Coleman remaining on scholarship, it doesn't seem like that exception could be used for Coleman to enter the portal before it's expected to open again in January, 2027.

What talent? Coleman had a grand total of one sack and was a liability against the run.

He was way overhyped and Tennessee learned a lesson the hard way.
You're confusing talent with production
Nothing that happened makes him overhyped--there were clear psychological issues that hindered him
Theres's reasons guys get countless chances--people see the potential
Coleman will likely get another chance if he wants to play

He was over hyped on this very forum along with the pay board.

Based on...
He hasn't played enough to determine that--this is all mental not physical
And has zero to do with "especially someone with a ton of talent"--you probably are also going to say Allar was overhyped which is false.

Based on insider and staff reports on the pay board.
Also dont put words in my mouth, I can express myself and thoughts quite well thank you.
Why do want to start arguments with everyone?

I'm sorry--who started this argument? It wasn't me.

The discussion you responded to was about the kid having talent. There's no doubt he has talent--whether that develops into him being successful will eventually be determined. Hopefully he gets it together mentally so he has an opportunity to live up to the hype but he wasn't here long enough to determine if he was overhyped of not.

Was Allar overhyped? Since, god forbid, I said you'd probably claim that you have a chance to answer it now.

Ummm I didn’t start anything look in the mirror cause it certainly wasn’t me.
I didn’t hype him but many other people did.
It is funny but not in a ha ha way but many posters on this board that I’ve known for a long time time told me not to bother with you. They said you were an A$$ but I think everyone deserves a chance. Oh well thank you for proving their point.

  1. I never said you hyped him up.
  2. You responded to my comment. I asked what your opinion was based on and explained why I disagreed—namely, that he hasn't been here long enough to prove that yet. Somehow that makes me an ***?
  3. You still haven't answered the question. Is that because I didn't put words in your mouth for you?
Look, I'm actually pretty easy to get along with if people don't get overly sensitive and turn every disagreement into a personal attack. I'm direct. If I ask why you believe something, it's because I think opinions should have some basis behind them. Sorry if that's not the kind of conversation you're used to, but I'm not here to coddle people because they don't like having their opinions questioned.

Yeah, that's fair--the NIL deal was based on "potential" vs "production'
Not a risk I would have taken but some coach always will--it's by even pros get countless chances. Coaches love thinking "I'm the one that can fix him"

We avoided a nightmare situation. Sometimes you have to trust the staff’s assessment. Wonder what Knowles was thinking bringing him to Tenn on a $3m contract.

It seems the young man has issues. So much talent that may never see the field.
