Terrible logic. Mark Pope had zero NCAA wins in his first 9 seasons as a D1 head coach. What about Cal in his first 9 seasons? Calipari was at UMass, which was one of the worst programs in America when he arrived, and he yet he had ELEVEN NCAA wins by year eight at UMass.

There's no way you make the argument that UMass had any advantages that BYU didn't.

No matter how you slice it, Calipari comes out better than Mark Pope, even since Pope came to UK. Again, Cal has more NCAA wins in that span. Even Kryptonite Era Calipari is better than Mark Pope.

That’s stupid . You don’t want to consider Cal quit on us and his last 4 year record shows it . Even negotiating a contract seconds after going on tv with Mitch stating he’s staying . He’s a pos . You can nutt dangle him I never will

There’s probably 200 D1 coaches better than Pope.

If you give Pope the benefit of the doubt.

And that has nothing to do with Cal.

So you enjoyed the last 4 tourneys of Cal better than the first 2 of Pope . We get it .

That's not the argument. Two different arguments. In fact, I think Cal phoned it in his last four years, and it's a shame because he should have finished out here but he got fat and lazy.

You were comparing Pope to Calipari. There has never been a time in Cal's career where he was inferior to Mark Pope. In fact, can you name one thing that Mark Pope does better than Calipari from a coaching perspective even right now? I'm sure there's something.

Honestly he KSR story about his player comps is kinda crazy and a bad look.

Wilkins =SGA
McBride = Randle
Noah = O. Simmons

Unfair to those kids to be compared to absolute legends.

"Boomers" sure is being used alot here lately in a derogatory way. I mean you have post after post after post saying it. Poorly raised, wimpy. snot-nosed punks disrespecting their elders while hiding behind a curtain is why I rarely come here anymore.

It's the times we're in, most of these young snot nose MF ers, have never had the s.hit slapped out of them for disrespect, or a belt across there a.ss from a pissed off boomer 😂 When they took the threat of the paddle away from the teachers, this is the s.hit that we get.

I love being a Boomer, all I do is fish and love life, go Cats 🥳

Cal didn't come out better this year on his home court, and had much more talent then Kentucky. Pope and Kentucky will kick Cals a.ss again this year.

Kentucky will have a big year, and Pope will be talked about differently at the end. That's my story, and I'm fkn sticking to it, until proven other wise. We probably won't remember this s.hit anyway.

I hope Pope beats Cal by 30. I hope Pope proves the doubters wrong.

We shall see.

Pretty easy to do when you take the whole roster and leave the cupboard completely bare
Why didn't Pope take Saunders and some of his other best players? After all, that last BYU team was a 6 seed. You'd think they'd want to come with him the way Cal's guys did.

Hopefully Batt will fire Pope after another disappointing season.

I’m ready to get back to winning some basketball.

So much infighting over whether Pope is the worst or best — he’s most likely neither. So far at Kentucky he’s averaged Round of 32-Sweet 16. He’s averaged a 5 seed. He isn’t the worst coach of all time and he more than likely isn’t the best one either. This year is his chance to earn more time on the arcade machine. If he does, that’s a good thing for BBN. If he doesn’t, it will be Game Over and the next player will begin inserting quarters. So many disingenuous arguments it makes your head spin. No one is going to look back in three years and care who was correct or incorrect about the coach. It’s in all of our best interest for Pope to win, so I’m all in on that. Hoping like heck for it — don’t know if it will happen and won’t pretend to know.
