Oof bad week for recruiting. Losing Britt to Mizzou was not surprising but losing Norman to NW and Johnson to MSU is no bueno…
I guess the Crystal ball to Iowa didn't mean much.
Last year had 8 composite 4 stars, not sure what the problem is this cycle.
If we miss out on Kuhn we missed every priority target from the official visit weekend.

The portal is largely replacing HS recruiting. Unless a guy is an absolute stud (which Iowa rarely gets) or has local connections, it is probably better to get guys out of the portal.
True, portal has replaced most of traditional recruting. Recruiting out of high school is still a crap shoot for the most part
That’s why now missing out on guys isn’t as bad as it used to be. Like QB who went to Kentucky. Half these qb switch schools within 2 years especially if not playing by soph year. Last year Iowa didn’t get a rb in our recruiting class and we ended up with FCS leading rusher from South Dakota LJ Philips out of portal.
