So, LSU, Texas, UK, Alabama, Arkansas? Who else, T-Tech? Houston? Baylor? TAMU(seems unlikely). Are Duke and UNC involved. Probably all of the above considering NIL and him being a top 5 player and possible #1 pick.

His sister is at Texas as a volleyball player. UK's women are the runner-up. She definitely wouldn't be taking a big leap backwards in a transfer here.

Zero if he wins.

No one had a problem with Cal getting one and dones until he started missing on the elite guys and began packing the roster with guys like Brandon Boston, Chris Livingston, and Quade Green.
Listen, his recruiting fell off, but there is no reason to take pot shots at kids for coming here and playing. Boston and Livingston both were good, neither should've been relied on to carry the load. Their coach built crappy rosters and put the kids in bad positions.

Very suspect to class variance too.

You can have a top class but if it is weak or unbalanced you are still in a lot of trouble.

Sometimes the #1 big is Skal or Bradshaw or Green is a leading point guard and you are sort of weak and broken by default despite hitting the plan at or near 100% on target.

All the eggs in the same basket all the time is difficult to navigate.

And sometimes higher rated prospect does not= better college player. Cal had multiple examples of kind of falling into that, especially early in his tenure. He wanted Will Barton in 2010. He lost out and got lower-rated Doron Lamb. Will Barton did turn out to be a better overall player, eventually, going on to a long NBA career as a solid rotation player. Cal still came out way ahead on that, because for 2 years in college Doron Lamb was a better option.

Other than projected lottery picks, who you know are 100% headed to the NBA and probably have the talent to justify taking for 1 season, I'd try and get a feel for how a player is really thinking and whether he's dead set on being 1 and done almost no matter what. And if he is, and he doesn't fall into the automatic lottery pick category, maybe look elsewhere. Guys are legitimately weighing more seasons in college vs being late first/2nd round picks now, so try to find guys who might actually consider that if they aren't instant stars.

I can see a Spears visit coming to fruition but my gut tells me it'll be a while before he decides and I think Texas will be the one to beat. His dad and the kid want a coach that shows him how to be better. Can Pope be that guy? I dunno. Maybe
