No they haven't. Like a previous poster said, show me where they have
You want me to go through all 5,000 articles Greg Barnes has written on this topic as well as podcasts in which he said it and point you to where the information is that you didn't read or listen to that the rest of us saw and heard? I'm not your secretary.

Both conferences have minimum expectations for their schools on how much each school is expected to invest in the revenue sports, but particularly football. We have historically not met that level of investment. Only recently, with the amount of money we spent on Belichick and NIL under Belichick, have we begun to meet that level of investment.

The whole point of joining P2 is to get a full revenue share from them. There's no point in joining either conference if we don't get a full revenue share. To get an invitation to either conference with a full revenue share, we have to continue to invest in football at a very high level, while at the same time getting less money from our TV deal with the ACC than the P2 schools get from the TV deals for their conferences. That puts a big strain on our donors and leaves them unable to invest in NIL for baseball the way we would like. The whole reason I started posting on this thread was because one poster was shocked that we're not top 10 in NIL for baseball, but the need to invest heavily in football is the reason for that (combined with the amount of money we need to spend a rebuild our basketball program). And if you don't like it, there's a very simple solution to that: make a multi-million dollar donation to the athletics department and ask that they earmark it for baseball NIL. Given how smart you claim to be compared to how stupid I am, you should have that kind of money lying around I would think.

You're the only person who read and/or heard it. That's the problem

from January 2025. Noted
Lolz. Okay. You win I guess. I guess I really am just a dumb old ignorant moron. I think I'll go cry about it. Turns out that in just a year and a half we've invested so much in football that we're good to go. I don't even need Troy to produce an article that says he's right. I just know it in my heart. I don't know why I was so dumb to think that I could win an argument with him. I guess it will continue to remain a mystery while UNC decided to give me three whole degrees.

UNC gave you three degrees and you don't have enough common sense to know that we're going to the SEC

Look man. As much fun as this hasn't been, I'm about to head out to go to the baseball game this afternoon and do a little tailgating ahead of time. If you want to insult someone and tell them they don't know what they're talking about, then demand that they produce an article proving they know what they're talking about, and then when they do produce that article, you still want to claim that they're wrong because you just know better, do it to somebody else. At this point, if I spend any more time trying to educate you, I'm going to have to charge you an hourly fee.

Still seems like Schnall is the leader.

And even if Forbes progresses, I can’t imagine he wouldn’t give us a chance to counter to keep him here. He’s been here for 20 years.
They could have already hired Schnall. They’re waiting on Forbes, who obviously hasn’t shut this down.

Am guessing, (maybe more hoping) that it’s just due diligence on both parties.

Forbes leverages to get more resources here, South Carolina says “see we went after Forbes”.

Not to rehash old wounds so soon, but similar to Lloyd and Arizona. It does no good for Forbes to shut it down right now when he can use it in negotiations.

Forbes has this thing rolling. Leaving this for any situation seems unlikely. If they do pull him I'd say Bryant Gaines could be a good new head man. Dude obviously knows what he is doing when it comes to pitching

Any idea on what we would try to do to keep him?

Whatever it takes. I will be absolutely SHOCKED if Forbes is not our coach next year. Another poster said the chance is next to zero he leaves. I agree.

To Answer another poster, no, not Holbrook. They already tried that. But that possible avenue seems to have closed. I think SCar will ultimately go with a P5 assistant.

Our football program is such a joke. I wish we could take some of the millions wasted on the staff and NIL and put it towards baseball. The fact that Lombardi is the highest paid GM in college football and is absolutely clueless is honestly sad.
Yeah. Give Forbes some of Lombardi’s money Lombardi needs a pay cut. No way he should be the highest paid GM in college football.

You don’t need to take from women’s basketball or any other program. Baseball donors need to do their job.

Baseball doesn’t generate a profit, so it makes sense why they don’t get a ton of rev share. Donors step up.
Women’s basketball loses more money than any program at Carolina. Twice the loss of baseball $4 million to $2 million. The dollars invested in baseball have had a much higher return. Women’s basketball should get a significant investment as the most visible women’s college sport but no way should it lose $4 million.

I agree but that’s just women’s basketball in general. It’s more expensive to maintain. It’s not a problem unique to Carolina.

In raw dollars, 250k for baseball goes a lot further in building a competitive team than 250k in women’s basketball. It’s just how it is.

Kevin Schnall most likely.

They get 250k from rev share, but you’re right, it’s not like the SEC schools are taking away money from football/basketball or even women’s basketball to give to baseball.

They’re able to fund baseball better because they’re getting greater contributions from their donors.
More tv money from the SEC tv package makes a big difference overall. Those programs have as lot more discretionary money. They can ask donors to donate to NIL because they have tv money coming in to cover operations.
