Momcilovic Can’t Create?

I live in Iowa and have watched him a lot. He can create much better than Brea could but I think he is also a better shooter. He needs to work on his defense. Might be the best player that Pope has ever recruited. He is a high character man and was the glue that held Iowa State together as a team.

There you have it. Scouting reports are wrong.

Momcilovic is a shot creator -- I've told you this before. It's not his primary bag, but definitely a part of his game. He averaged 17.0 ppg last year for a reason --- it wasn't all catch and shoot. If I were you, I'd be wondering why Momcilovic is regarded as a top 3 portal player (regardless of ranking site).

Shot Versatility: Deadly off the catch, but also highly capable of relocating, shooting off screens, and knocking down pick-and-pop attempts.Tactical Scoring: Operates effectively in early transition and uses a highly refined pump-fake-into-sidestep move to beat aggressive closeouts.Limitations:

Not an explosive, above-the-rim athlete or a primary isolation creator. His handle can be clunky in crowded spaces inside the arc.

I don’t think Noah’s ever gonna see the floor outside of garbage time next year.

Adding Milan eliminates any conceivable need for what he provides.
The opposite is happening with Noah for his career. Every year in college he is getting less and less playing time.

When you post, I take your posts seriously and respond seriously. When I post, even when I say its my own opinion, I get disrespectful laugh emojis. I don't prefer that --- think your distaste of the coach overrides you at times.

He doesn’t care and quite frankly I think he’s a little bit ticked off UK got some good news last night. He thinks an NBA scout’s assessment is indicative of how good a college player he’ll be.

There are whole games out there on YouTube that you can watch if you’re so inclined to think for yourself.

The debate on Milan started with many on here calling him JUST a spot up shooter. Which is ridiculous. He’s not going to be confused with a slasher like Oweh but he’s way more than a spot up shooter. Dude can score.

I agree that using an NBA draft scouting report is not a good way to analyze his game. He does things in college that he will not be asked to do at the next level. I think Wildcat fans are going to love Milan. I'm something of an Otzelberger guy so I try to watch more Iowa State and I was over the moon about the possibility of Momcilovic.

We may have to define our terms here. He has some creativity with how he’s able to get his 3s off besides strictly wide open catch and shoot situations, but he’s absolutely not a guy who’s routinely putting stress on the defense off the dribble. He rarely gets to the rim at all, two thirds of his field goal attempts last year were from behind the arc, and he had a very low assist rate.

He’s still likely going to make a big impact on offense just from how many 3s he can hit on high efficiency, but I do think it’s fair to acknowledge that he doesn’t do much of what people usually mean when they call someone a “creator”.

Not disagreeing but he’s also going to play the 3 or 4. Since when does that position rely heavily on having a creator play it? I mean that would be great but we need that from the 1 or 2 spots.

i love the trope of "white ball player exclusively gets compared to other white ball players".
I know many people do this. But race is NOT the reason he draws so many Nowitzki comparisons, instead it’s because his moves look like a carbon copy of the ones Dirk made famous.

The dude obviously studied a lot of Dirk vids as a kid.

The context here is that Milan can create his own shot not create for others. As I stated above, the debate on him started with folks saying he was just a spot up shooter.

And what's wrong with that? White players tend to not be as athletic, so they focus on parts of the game that don't require as much athleticism. Meanwhile, black players tend to use their athleticism to their advantage. That's why white players at a high level play very similarly and get compared to each other. If you weren't a moron who gets off on insinuating that people are racist, we wouldn't have to explain it to you as if you are 5 years old. But here we are.

N'Diaye has that same move in his bag, I instantly thought Dirk.

I dont understand how folks cant be happy with MM coming here. I have ragged on Pope a lot this past season and I am so glad to be proven wrong on Pope landing MM.

Maybe this will break the ice and help us land more top guys in the future. I hope MM plays at the next level but to be honest I just care about what he does for us and making a run in the tournament. He's a excellent college player.

He probably will be a projected 1st team AA heading into the season. He will make everyone better around him so I'm stoked for the season. Don't mind eating crow at all today.
