This really is not new.
Now everything is based on TV.
The channels pick their games a couple weeks in advance. TV does not GAF about homecoming.
The start of the homecoming game (like every other game after week 3) will be known about 2 weeks before the game.
prior to this current TV deal, the Big Ten (and that conference alone) had a stipulation that all Homecoming games would have their kickoff time set in advance. With this new deal, there was apparently more flexibility built in for the TV networks so while some time could get set in advance, others were listed as possible times. This year, even that is out the window as only Rutgers had a specific kickoff time announced and every other team is TBA.
It’s quite unfortunate as it was generally a good thing for schools so they could better plan homecoming activities in advance. But Kevin Warren really didn’t give a crap that these were actual universities that had interests beyond just the sports teams.
