Mad:Might be an in to get talent from the New Jersey Rise Basketball program..
So I like this pick-up as a possible recruiting tool for NJ AAU talent
A Mr. Television sighting?!Mad:
Thought the same thing. Good catch.
Said this in another thread but one of my big initial questions about Coach G was overcoming the lack of local ties (or if he’d just go with a fully national approach). But I’ve been impressed so far in how hard he and the staff are pushing to cultivate relationships in the NJ scene - with this add being another example on multiple fronts - while also casting a wide net, hitting events and giving offers to players around the country.Yes to all that; and being intentional about making the team Jersey forward.
There will now be SIX Jersey girls on the team next year:
Plus Lauryn Swann is from Queens.
- Mia and Mya Pauldo
- Deja Young
- Precious Gem Wheeler
- Tara Daye
- Hope Masonius
I agree and I am very excited for women’s bball maybe a little more than men’s!!Said this in another thread but one of my big initial questions about Coach G was overcoming the lack of local ties (or if he’d just go with a fully national approach). Don’t know yet how everything will come together, but I see the vision, which is all you can ask for early on. And I’m not sure how much better he and the staff could have done than this roster for year 1 - on paper, team should be much improved.
Credit where it’s due: I really like what men’s hoops did in the portal too. Hard not to see this haul vs. what we’ve done in the past and think Keli arrived a couple years too late.I agree and I am very excited for women’s bball maybe a little more than men’s!!
GAWD, 8/EIGHT new faces. They better have practices that exhaust them till they drop.![]()

Strange as it sounds with that many newcomers, I was actually a little surprised/encouraged at how much of last year's team the new staff retained - three of last season's top 6 scorers are back (though I'd expect some changes in the pecking order this season).GAWD, 8/EIGHT new faces.
