Yes to all that; and being intentional about making the team Jersey forward.

There will now be SIX Jersey girls on the team next year:
  • Mia and Mya Pauldo
  • Deja Young
  • Precious Gem Wheeler
  • Tara Daye
  • Hope Masonius
Plus Lauryn Swann is from Queens.

Said this in another thread but one of my big initial questions about Coach G was overcoming the lack of local ties (or if he’d just go with a fully national approach). But I’ve been impressed so far in how hard he and the staff are pushing to cultivate relationships in the NJ scene - with this add being another example on multiple fronts - while also casting a wide net, hitting events and giving offers to players around the country.

Don’t know yet how everything will come together, but I see the vision, which is all you can ask for early on. And I’m not sure how much better he and the staff could have done than this roster for year 1 - on paper, team should be much improved.

Alas, huge roster turnover is fairly typical in the new NIL/no penalty transfer environment. The biggest adjustment will be everyone is dealing with a brand new coaching staff--but that should make the season fun!

Finally a coach that gets what getting access to NJ means. Had high hopes for quese when she first got here and met with the NJ AAU and trainers. She talked a good game with them but quickly did as her predecessor CViv did and took them for granted. Redus has been very active. And open with the clubs and trainers he needs to be.

GAWD, 8/EIGHT new faces. They better have practices that exhaust them till they drop.
Strange as it sounds with that many newcomers, I was actually a little surprised/encouraged at how much of last year's team the new staff retained - three of last season's top 6 scorers are back (though I'd expect some changes in the pecking order this season).
