1. A slice of New York City pizza bought at one of those hole in the wall places you step by on your way to Shop/Theater/Museum

2. Prime rib, rare, with a loaded baked potato

3. Swordfish steak with stewed tomatoes and blue cheese salad

4. Schmidts hot sausage on a hard italian roll

5. Philly cheese steak from that shop my son takes me to

6. Crab cakes, all meat with no filler

7. Mom's recipe spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread

8. Hot pastrami piled high on rye and with that spicy brown mustard

9. A meatball sub with cheese from that shop in Squirrel Hill

10. Lobster with melted butter and a Manhattan (or two) while sitting on that docked sail boat in Cape May

Im a meat eater, but I bow to having a few sides when the situation and meal calls for them.

My doctor at my last physical. I was 215 pounds at a smidgen under six feet tall.

Doctor: In your mind, what’s your ideal weight?
Me: 205.
Doc: Why? You wouldn’t be any healthier than you are now.

I like my doctor.
Doc: How do you clear wax out of your ears? Do you use a Q-Tip?
Me: Yeah.
Doc: Stop doing that.

Doctor: Then don't do that.

Excellent call on the McDonald's Coca-Cola

Moscow mules in those copper cups! They go down fast.

You guys are killing me. Still on chemo and so I have been thinking, July 15th is my go date for alcohol and all kinds of good food since it will be 30 days after my last infusion date. So I need to start thinking about it and good food tips up top.
Protein protein protein. Hang in there.

I read recently to avoid apex predatory foods (like swordfish) as they devore everything below them on food chain and microplastics in the ocean accumulate up the food chain.

I had my jaw broken twice while at Penn State (Army training during summer, then rebroke 6 months later during a brew-ha-ha at the Delta Tau Delta house). Both times had to live on ensure as this was 1987/88 and no other protein shake options existed. That shiit was horrible. I often say the first time you break your jaw and get wired shut for 8 weeks only sucks that last 4 weeks... but the 2nd time you know exactly how bad it is going to get from day 1.

I have an affinity for some of the sausage creations at local butchers.

Never understood prime rib. Never understood deli sammies that had too high a meat ratio. If I’m going to have a steak I can easily stop at 16oz, and it has to be served with about an equal amount of (preferably grilled or roasted) veggies. Currently I choose hangers because I like them and I’m cheap. Great with the local spice shop’s Oaxacan (coffee) rub.

Oh and I’m on a grilled branzino streak too.
