If Cowboy RTC wants to build the freestyle fanbase I humbly propose some ideas for solving the common problems I've encountered following freestyle.
1. Do some educational videos on the rules. We know the differences from folkstyle, but seeing them demonstrated would be really helpful. Yes I know there are demos on Youtube but having it come from our coaches and RTC would be super cool and build hype.
2. Help us with the scheduling, who's competing from our RTC, how to watch, and what the stakes are. This information is de-centralized - you can find it all, but you have to dig on Flo and USAW and forums and social media and news media to piece it all together. Only die-hard fans are able and willing to commit to this process... and even then it's very easy to miss an event or a start time or a bracket link and have to go to forums and beg for answers.
3. Figure out a consistent way to push this information out on official/traditional channels. In my view it should be as easy to know about a Cowboy RTC freestyle event as it is a Cowboy Wrestling dual. Social media is great for what it is, but there is a movement building of people breaking the habit of being on it every day... need to keep reaching those folks.
4. None of this is a criticism so I hope nobody takes it that way. My impression is that these issues are common across freestyle fanbases. Cowboy RTC could build only our fanbase AND provide a resource for other freestyle fans that share these frustrations.... in turn building our fanbase even more AND support for freestyle athletes in general. We've already reimagined our social media to fantastic effect, and I think it would not be a huge lift to figure this one out too.
Anyways just brainstorming! Happy Thursday y'all
