Kids spring elementary concert was timed right during the finals so that stinks. I see James was close. That kid is going to be a freaking stud!

The James match was awesome!! Goes down 9-1 with 2:00 left but gets to his offense and climbs back to within a td. He needed 3 points though because of criteria so he had to try and go big or get a quick 2 and 2. Carr also had 2 cautions so 1 more and he would’ve been cautioned out of the match. James came at him but Carr held good position. Incredible fortitude from the youngster to fight back. Carr looked really good as well. Best he had all weekend

Just some thoughts.

61 - I knew Jax would make the adjustments. Didn't wrestle like it was a folkstyle match and killed Davino. Jax's ability to finish when he gets to a leg is underrated. Can't wait for Blaze-Jax.

70 - This version of Zain isn't medaling. Can't really get to legs. Looked like the 2017 version. I'm sure he'll get his timing back. Hope he hits a tourney before worlds - there's certainly plenty of time.

74 - KD messed up. Had he not challenged that clear 4 from carr, James is winning that match. That was a 2 (elbow hit) and then a 4. And I don't care who wins at Final X. Neither is medaling. This version of Carr just aint gonna do it. And Green is just going to stand around and do nothing to lose matches. Maybe Carr should just transfer to All I See Is Gold Academy (it's where he's been training since the Open)

125 - Parris is the better pure wrestler. But Hendrickson is just willing to let it fly from everywhere. Definitely a toss up match, either guy can medal.

There may not be such a thing as redshirts next year if the NCAA five years to compete happens.

From what I've seen being proposed for the 5 for 5 concept, the 5 year clock would start at high school graduation or at 19th birthday, whichever occurs first. Under these rules, one would burn a year of eligibility if taking a grey shirt after HS graduation.

Of course, nothing is final yet, but this apparently is what's being considered.

Would you rather read the book or just find out the ending?
Will it be happy?

61kg final: Ben Davino vs. Jax Forrest

About 30 seconds in, Ben Davino's head collides with Jax Forrest's knee. Both need medical time. It looks like they're checking Davino for a concussion. But, he's good, and they're back going.

Forrest counters a Davino shot and scores a takedown for a 2-0 lead. Then he locks in a leg lace for two and only two. Could have been a lot worse. It's 4-0 Forrest with five minutes to wrestle. After a stalemate at the 4:35 mark, there's some action but not much before another stoppage. It's still 4-0 Forrest at the four minute mark. It's break time. Forrest leads 4-0.

They're back in action now. Lots of movement off the whistle. Forrest tries a throw by but Davino fends it off and thye break apart. Davino is now in on a great single leg but Forrest gets two out of it for 6-0. Davino gets a reversal to 6-1. Now they're back neutral with 1:45 to wrestle. Davino shoots and Forrest counter shoot and scores a takedown for an 8-1 lead. Stalemate now at 1:20. Forrest is now in on a head outside sindle and Davino is trying to counter but Forrest gets a takedown and an exposure to win, 11-1.

Forrest TF Davino 11-1

Forrest vs. Blaze at Final X.
I watched the sequence a handful of times and cannot figure out where Jax's 9th point came from. He was up 6-1, hit a double to duck for 2 to make it 8-1. They put 9-1 on the board and never changed it. Next TD made it 11-1 and a tech. Anyone know?

Is there a lawyer in this forum? I need representation for starting a class action lawsuit against espn.com . It turns out that they have been spoiling the result before their readers have had a chance to read the details of games. They use a nefarious mechanism called “headline”. See example below. 🙀

I’ll take this one! It’s seems worth coming out of retirement for. Just a heads-up to all putative class members though: The litigation will last years, I’ll end up with the lions share of any payout, and you’ll maybe end up with a coupon for a small dollar amount redeemable when your subscription renews - provided you take the time to fill out the claims form and timely submit it.

I know you guys think you are being cute… the only thing that was asked by the original poster (who wasn’t me) is that you don’t post the final score above the PBP. That you wait the 30 seconds for the PBP to be done. 30 seconds.

It wasn’t a huge ask, was targeted at only 1 guy (who has never done it before, and no one else has either in all the other tourneys).

It’s no different than if you were watching in a bar on your phone and everyone else was watching on the bar TV w a 15 second delay, you wouldn’t scream out the result.

That isn’t a huge ask for what is supposed to be a friendly and fun fan forum. That all of us have contributed to for decades.

Y’all do what you want. Post spoilers, don’t, call us all old nitpickers.
I’m gonna move on, read the thread later tonight, and hopefully read about PSU Ws. Thanks.
The correct bar analogy you should be using is a guy walks into a bar where fifty people are watching the NCAA championships and yells at the bartender to shut the TV off. He doesn't want to see the results before he gets home and watchs the whole thing on demand.

Just watched again it was definitely a mistake. At 1:31 the 2 was given
At 1:26 while he's on top 1 is given

Not that it likely would have mattered, but then the match should not have been stopped when it was. The score would have only been 10-1.
Jax scored and he was in a great position to turn him as well if needed I don't think it matters but it looks like a mistake to me.

Horseshit. Which shows you have no idea what the original poster was politely asking.

The poster was asking that 1 guy delay posting the results for 30 freaking seconds! Not until the tourney was over… not until others said “cool we are good”. It was literally “let the PbP post get done before posting the score”. Not until someone can get home to watch.

Wait 30 seconds for the PbP post to hit. It is mind boggling that anyone thinks that is even an impolite request. And again, the request didn’t come from me.

I just went and rewatched Carr vs James. In the last sequence where James scored on the edge taking Carr over from quad pod, Carr initially hits his elbow/forearm to the mat before Jayden takes him over. Isn’t that a td once Carr’s supporting point hits? On the broadcast Pyles says something about a second supporting point needing to hit the mat. I’ve always thought that as soon as the head, knee, or elbow hits a td. If so, Jayden would’ve gotten 2 and 2 more on the edge or possibly even 4 on the edge and the score would’ve been 9-9 or 11-9 Jayden. @vhsalum pointed this out as well

James looked awesome, but much smaller than Carr. He looks closer to 157 than 174 ---- barring a Kasak cow. ;)
Agree. And Carr’s length was an obstacle as well.

James is going to be a great one. It will be fun to watch his progress in both Folk and Free.

How about we end it on this? The request was made to me. The reply is “no.”

i have no desire to be first. I do a have a desire to post in real time with many other posters that I enjoy discussing dual and tournaments with over the years. Like always. It contributes to MY enjoyment of this board.
