For future reference, say PSU and Iowa are wrestling a dual and the PBP guy , whoever that is ,dies half way through the match...do I just never find out Penn State shut them out or is someone eventually allowed to post the final score?

there is absolutely 0.0 reason for you or anyone else to post the score knowing full well 1) other guys are putting bigtime effort into play by play, and 2) some guys enjoy the drama of the PbP.

Do you realize that you can just stay on the pbp post and either refresh if you're on the phone or hit f5 on a computer to stay on the pbp and never see what others are posting in the meantime?
