Which just underscores the abject stupidity of their current proposal. All states ban 20 year olds from competing as HS athletes and most ban 19yr olds so 19 or graduation doesn't change anyone's eligibility.
Bo was 19 August 2025 . Need to see the legislation in writing. He could only get 4 years although VA tech thinks he will get 5

Soooo.. if the 5 for 5 hits, could James since he's so young actually take a grey shirt and still be eligible since hes so young???
Not, if I understand correctly… clock starts with graduation from high school OR 19th birthday…

So the super old graduates lose a year, but the super young graduates do NOT gain a year.

He turned 19 after competitive sports already started at the NCAA level so there's no reason for him to lose a year unless it's by specific sport start and the NCAA has never done that in the past.

Joe Sealey will continue wrestling

Joe Sealey used a first period takedown and picked up a passivity point from opponent Cam Amine to beat the Cowboy RTC wrestler 3-2 in a 74-kilogram consolation bracket match. The Nittany Lions' tournament will continue. Next up is a consolation semifinal opposite a to-be-determined opponent later today.

Mirasola vs Zillmer

Mirasola out to a 1-0 lead (sorry, it took forever to flip between mats, so I'm not sure how). Zillmer is now on the clock. He does not score, giving Mirasola a 2-0 lead with 45 seconds left in the first period. That's the score after one.

Mirasola gets a takedown about a minute in to the second period to swell his lead to 4-0. We get a stalemate with 1:42 left. No more scoring from there.

Mirasola over ZIllmer, 4-0

Consider Jayden James. He graduations HS in June 2026 (next month). His eligibility clock would start at that time, which would be right around his 18th birthday.

Then consider Bo Bassett. According to most reports, he turned 19 sometime in late 2025, while still in HS. His eligibility clock would start at that time, while still in HS. So he would have only 4 years of college eligibility remaining.

So not the same for everyone (though maybe about the same for most). But again, none of this is finalized yet and there may be exceptions, grandfathering, etc.

I don’t know the rule on that… if he graduated with his class probably not… if he purposely left himself a few credits short, perhaps.

The only exceptions to enrollment starting is Mormon mission, military and pregnancy. There is a grace period for prep schools next fall.

Cole was 227.5 imagine he's 235 next year. He's continuing to develop his offense and is scoring in different ways
He’s down from 232-233 at the US Open where he looked sluggish. Only 3 weeks difference, but you have to think his training prep was different for this tournament with that kind of drop. Hard for me to think he will ever get to 235 and maintain it effectively, but it’s possible. Also possible that he is just better in the 220s where his movement and gas tank are firing.

Retherford/Robedieu in the hole on mat 1.

In addition to that, breaking news, James/Monday is up fourth on mat 1.

I am not sure how much is weight. He really just needs to get stronger. Another year in a college weight room will make a difference. Just keep adding strength is what I think is most important.

Just a thought, and it is quite possible I am just full of crap on this one but yeah. It seems to me the issue is in the legs and core. He will get in and as he is working his technique he gets knocked off center and goes from the offensive wrestler to the defensive wrestler.
I am sure they are working on it, but more and heavier deadlifts, squats and cleans. Also grab an 80 pound vest and another 80 pound bag of sand and start climbing hills.

I wasn't talking trash at all. I was giving my opinion. Man you guys are hilarious
Woah easy on you guys...Some guys, sure... Now, I could have made a comment because I commented picking James before the match but honestly, why would I? You picked a multiple time national runner up who's graduated college over a highschool senior who's 17. Seems sensical to me, even if it ended up incorrect.
