Great podcast witch Ocho Cinco that is heavily FUTBOL driven. Ex NFL players acknowledging that they can't hang with the soccer players on the pitch as it has less to do with a straight line 40 speed in futbol. Gronk even said it, with soccer if you don't start typically before the age of 5 there is no real way to catch up if you try to start at the age of 10 or so. Gronk took in a training with Barcelona and it spun his head as to the level of skill involved in the sport. In fact I think he stated it's probably the hardest skill sport around or something along those lines. He at least caught on to the nuance of the sport with the touch, spin, side of foot....etc. to make the ball actually do what you want. Casual or non fans who never played really don't comprehend some of that IMO.
I didn’t mean to imply that I think Jahan Dotson could retire from the NFL tomorrow and be a wow futbol superstar two days from today. I can be slow on the uptake but I’m no dummy. Let me rephrase: if Dotson had started his futbol training at age 5 and got first rate coaching and trained against first-rate players, I think he’d be all that on the soccer pitch right now.
