Not sure if LSU is the place you go if you’re looking for fewer issues but here we are. Was not expecting this…

It's all good in Baton Rouge. No income gap there at all. Much better than Mississippi of course. He should know.

This from a guy who a few years ago was coaching in Boca Raton and L.A.

I was a regular visitor to the USC board during the time of Kiffin’s hiring and you’d have thought the Trojans were hiring Michael Scott.

Kiffin is one of the best at telling "his truth" and getting far too many to believe him--but I'm guessing that's true of all the best recruiters

Why is it so hard for people to tell the truth nowadays??

"LSU offered me a lot more money and they're also willing to shell out more cash to bring in the best players. I've also been told I can cut loose any player who I feel can no longer contribute to the success of the football team. And rumor has it the coeds in Baton Rouge are willing to put out for the coaches. The gals in Oxford can be a bit prudish."

🤷‍♂️

I think people are looking at this the wrong way (though I can't stand Kiffin so I'm good with that) but this was merely a recruiting tactic.

In effect, yeah. But you can’t preclude the possibility that Kiffin actually believes what he said.

And yet there were people on this board just a few months ago saying they would love to have Kiffin as the next HC of PSU after Franklin.
I don't like him but the objective is to win--he's pretty good at that

I don’t understand the outrage. I’m wouldn’t be cool if my cul de sac (28 homes) flew the confederate flag. We looked in North East MD and we saw random confederate flags on front stoops. Hard pass. Culture is real, locations favor different ones. Live where the culture suits you.
Fair but let's not pretend Louisiana isn't in the deep south

Well said. I have to think that a whole lot of the yelling is due to the fact that it’s Lane Kiffin driving the story. Kiffin is, I guess, the #1 despised coach in college football. I myself have never taken Kiffin seriously outside the coaching part.

Yes, I am not sure why some have an issue with what Kiffin said. And I admit I read only what was linked, not the entire story. He just said the history of racism in the state of Mississippi hurt his ability to recruit. That doesn't reaIly seem controversial.

It's not the comment--it's the insincerity of the comment
He knew the history of the state before he accepted the job. He stayed there for 6 seasons despite the alleged issues. Is it easier to recruit at LSU because they have less Confederate flags (maybe) or is it because of the money he can spend?
Kiffin only made the comments as a recruiting tactic--period.

Period. JFC…stop defending the indefensible. It’s preposterous.

The real question that needs to be answered, "After Charlottesville, which state ordered the most confederate flags?"

The real answer is, more Confederate flags were sold in Pennsylvania afterwards than any other state in our country. So don't y'all
Get all pious on me.

Anyone familiar with Rising Sun ? As a teen , me and some friends heard there was a particular sign as you entered city limits. We couldn't believe it existed . We drove down there and saw it. Some of the most hardcore Civil War sentiment was at the Mason Dixon line. Pennsyltucky is very close by . One thing about the internet and expose knowledge is that all kinds of dysfunctional **** is coming out about 'murica . Maybe that's good .
