Good player but stuff like this is why I'm glad we didn't get that clown.
No doubt about his talent but he really comes off that a creep.

Yes, he's the perfect Kansas player and fits that image perfectly. But we still needed him, moreso for reasons not involving actual on court play.

I personally loathe the Lawson twins because they are punk bitches and they effectively ushered in Tubby's downfall at Memphis. Tubby actually had them doing better than Penny is now, IIRC, but Tubby is NOT the man for the Memphis recruiting scene.

As far as Stokes goes, it'd be hilarious if he only averages 8 points and quits by Feb but we wanted him and we needed him so I'm not going to pretend we'll be better off without him because it's more likely he burns us when we play KU. We can say we dodged a bullet if he fails next season or KU loses in the first round or something but right now in May, this thread just sounds very sour grapes and bitter.

I work in a high school and there’s like 100 of this dude in every high school. This one just happens to be 6’7” 230lbs and is gifted af basketball. And also a millionaire.
If he matures and takes it seriously he will have a nice NBA career. But for one year I don’t know what his impact will be at any college because he isn’t mature enough yet IMO.

Even in the transfer portal era, there's still a place for elite one and done's to lead a contending level team. With that being said, it's incredibly hard to imagine Tyran being the best player on a final 4 level team. Has turmoil season written all over it. Pope missing on this kid reflects less poorly than him not dropping out when all the other big coaches did.
Don’t forget Tay Kinney also released his own “6 7 Water” upon committing to Kansas. Can only imagine the locker room with him and Stokes, hope Self has his cardiologist on speed dial.
